Just back from a two week stay in the Montemar Hotel. Very friendly staff. Rooms cleaned every day with fresh towels daily. Could hear the lift from 7am as breakfast starts at that time. Air conditioning quiet noisy and as it was August had to leave it on. Quiet outdated but for what you pay its good value and clean.... More

We stayed here in July for five nights - it was ok. It was clean however extremely run down. The bathroom looked dirty but in fact it was just worn. The beds were ok - we had two singles. As a couple it would have been nicer to have a double but no big deal. The distance to the beach... More

This quiet hotel is a very good bedroom if you want an excellent quality/price ratio. On the other side of the street there is a free public parking(capacity around 100cars). Our room was clean, with a 14’’ TV(around 7 channels) and a balcony. It is perfect for 2 adults and a small child. Breakfast is not much, we had the... More

Stayed 1 night due to usual hotel being fully booked. This is an older property in need of some tlc. The rooms are small and outdated with a small portable TV fixed high on the wall almost at ceiling height. The air con was noisy but effective. The bathroom really needs attention, especially the shower which was poor with no... More

Stayed at this hotel on a business trip during Algarve high seassion. It was booked by the travel agency. Well… where do I start? It’s an old hotel, 3 stars… but I don’t know if they deserve 3 stars. The staff is friendly… well.. staff?!? I just saw the same girl… Don’t expect to many staff! It only have wifi... More

Not a good place to stay, unless you are under 30 and fit. The beaches are about 30 mins away. The town is about 15 mins going and 30 coming back. It is unbearable to walk so much in this heat. We ended up having lots of meals in the local Spar, about a 10 min walk. It is quite... More

Have just come back from such an amazing week in Lagos, Portugal staying at The Montemar hotel. The transfer took about 1.30 hours from Faro. If your like me you like to stay cheap and use your money for better things. Everyone there is so friendly and helpful. The breakfast is basic only having pastry, ham, cheese, yogurt, cornflakes and... More

Was made to welcome as soon as I arrived. On first impressions it does look as if it's stuck in a time warp but it is in tune with the local area of Lagos. Room was clean comfy and spacious. Breakfast was continental. Tasty enough but lacked a bit of variety. The staff were all well versed in English and... More

We got the hotel at very low price with breakfast which was really good compare to the price we payed. The room was a bit small but enough for us, clean and comfortable with a balcony with a good view of the sea but the room was a bit old but it was okay. It's not in the city center... More
