I think some of these reviews are a little unfair. Ok, so it might not be 5 star luxury with fluffy bathrobes, but it's cheap, it's got the best location in town and if you wake up at 3am and feel like a boogie, you only have to walk downstairs! And they don't mind you hanging your wetsuits up over... More

This is a clean hotel in a very convenient location to the centre of Lagos. The rooms are clean and the reception staff are pleasant, efficient and helpful. The rooms are compact however functional with the desired facilities for a good nights rest. The mornings are however a different matter. I had read a review on trip advisor before be... More

we've just finished travelling round europe and had a great time here! Good clean rooms at reasonable prices...we managed to get a discount, try your luck! right in the centre so a bit noisy, though as we were part of it we didnt mind, saved on taxis! great town, great beaches and basically fun times in this central hostel.

Stayed here in early July 2007 for 3 nights. We have stayed in all kinds of derelict little places in our backpacking life, and so we can tolerate a lot, but this place is horrible! If you choose to stay here, be prepared for dirty rooms which never get cleaned (our blanket actually smelled like urine), management that doesn't care... More

We stayed at the Rubi-Mar several years ago and loved it. We went back this month and were very disappointed. While our room had a balcony with a decent view of the sea, everything else about the room was intolerable. New owners took over the residencial about a year ago, and I think the former owners took the housekeeper with... More

This place is awsome. So close to all the fun. We found it on lagos free site, took a chance and booked it. We were not dissapointed. Would recommend Rubi Mar and Lagos to anyone.

Just got back from staying at the Rubi Mar and had a wicked time! Great location right near all the bars and restaurants. There are new owners (Den & Jess) who I think have been in charge for a few months but they were really cool and knew all the best bars and nice(but cheap!) places to eat. The rooms... More

In 1996 I toured Europe on my BMW motorcycle (R1100 RT to be precise :) - no plug intended for BMW although they are awsome bikes. I stayed in Lagos (among other towns throughout Portugal) and the Rubi Mar Guest House was one of the nicest places I stayed in. THe Hosts (a gay couple from England) were gracious, very... More
