we returned on 30/10/14, so apologies for delay in review. POSITIVES 1. Arrived in the evening and was greeted by an extremely helpful, pleasant member of staff, who we found out was called Sergio. He personally took us up to give us the option of 2 room choices and was very relaxed and welcoming. 2. We were very happy with... More

In April, my friends and I ventured out to Faro for some relaxation and bonding. This hotel was just what we needed. It was clean, centrally located, friendly staff, and we felt safe. There are not many frills but breakfast was delicious, the staff helped is with arranging excursions/restaurant recommendations, and nice bakery across the street.

This was my second trip to Faro and I wanted a Hotel with a central location within walking distance of the Igreja do Carmo Church. Located in a quiet side street the Hotel is about ten-fifteen minutes from the Igreja and the Old Town. My twin room looked out onto the street and was very clean, with several power points... More

Room was clean and basic. Opened the door which immediately bounced back towards our faces as his hit the bed, it was a struggle to get our suitcases through. The curtains were drawn casting a strong shadow of red making it hard to see. Didn't understand why until we drew them to find an office block a few meters away... More

Characterless but clean and well run, The Santa Maria, is a suitable option for a traveller spending a few days in Faro. The hotel is conveniently located in the centre of town within easy walking distance of the things the average tourist is likely to need. For those people choosing not to have breakfast on the premesis there are a... More

The hotel is a few minute walk to pedestrian shopping area and 10-15 minute walk from the bus station or the train station. So it is very convenient We had a room near the corner of the building, so it has a trapezoidal shape with a column inside our room. Furniture is a little bit aged but still clean. Mattress... More

Great location.Clean and comfortable room on the fifth floor with large balcony, good Wi-Fi,aircon and fridge. Bar area a waste of space, have your night cap before returning to hotel. Stayed for a week and found Faro a good base for days out to Tavira, a sort rail trip, and Vilamoura, a short bus trip.

This hotel is very similar to many of the UK Travel Lodge type establishments and provides a comfortable room in which to stay. Our room on the corner of the building was on the first floor, overlooking the building opposite and street outside. There was a narrow balcony outside the sliding doors and this led around the corner of the... More

Near the Town centre, a very clean quiet hotel. We spent a relaxing 10 days there. The rooms have good wifi, chiller-cabinet, air con, best quality mattresses and a laptop-size safe. A good continental breakfast is served 6.30 to 12.00 by pleasant staff. All the staff are friendly but Receptionist "Ana" deserves a special mention for efficient, informative help to... More

Despite some soot in the city you would have a view. It is nearby the walking zone and the old city, but without the noise of restaurants, tourists and traffic. Do not miss to visit the Fish Market - 10 min walking and the Municipal museum in the old city - 10 min walking.
