A great place, cheapest place I could find. Absolutely no frills but value for what you get. Free Wifi too. Very small rooms but good value. It looks dogey around but the whole area is old and run down. the towns small but 1 ten minute walk and gorgeous. seen famils and old people mainly

I stayed at the guesthouse for 13 nights (in two separate occasions. The room was very nice (room 4) with AC (good in June), a TV, also the bathroom was smal but very confortable. Room was cleaned daily. The only caveat was that, for me, the bed was kind of hard. You also have WiFi on the room. The guesthouse... More

The guest house is certainly worth the price. The steep staircase leads to the narrow quirky painted corridor with lots of rooms. There is a place on the roof to eat and walk. We had a room for three on the roof for price for two.

The room was not massive but we are young travellers and wanted something central, easy, clean and cheap. This ticked all the boxes. The room came with an ensuite shower, which was really tiny and I did keep banging my elbows as I am a klutz, but it was clean and towels were changed daily. The room was tidied daily... More

It is a very good value for the money. Hot water for showers, a clean and private bathroom. The staff was polite, but not over and above. The area near the hostel seemed rather dodgy so I didn't feel safe, but that may be more of a reflection of the city rather than the hostel. The thing that bothered me... More

We spent 2 nights there. It's a very quiet neighbourhood and close to everything: train and bus station, ferry, shops, bars, restaurants etc. We felt pretty safe there because you must ring to enter the hostel, so you receive a key only for your room.

We spent only one night at Guest House Sao Filipe, but we were positively surprised. Everything was very clean and neat. The room was basic but very cosy, with a TV, air conditioning and a very nice, large bathroom. The street was quiet so we had a very good rest. The lady at the reception was very friendly and helpful,... More

Our stay at Hospedaria Sao Filipe was nice and enjoyable. The staff was very smiley and helpful, and relaxed regarding when the bill was to be paid. We were placed in what appeared to be an external room on the roof/upper veranda of the hotel, but the room was clean and comfortable. The bathroom was the only part of the... More

Used the bus from Faro airport, from where it was literally a 5 minute walk, slightly up hill to the Sao Felipe. From previews with Google map and steetviews, had been expecting to see a main road; at 9pm, the "hole in the wall" look of Sao Filipe, on what appeared to be a dodgy sidestreet was slightly disconcerting. But... More

Every time I have travelled to Portugal I always had great experience, and Faro was not an exception. Hospedaria Sao Felipe is very well located, at walking distance from the station and from the centre. There are not a lot of shops and restaurants around, but the area is safe and you can reach them in less than 10mins walking.... More
