Just back from a week at this cliff top hotel. The reception staff are very helpful and polite. The rooms are ok and the cleaners generally do a good job in keeping the place clean and tidy. The standard of food at breakfast and dinner is average, the restaurant can get crowded and frantic at times and the tables are far... More

Room good, breakfast good, pool good, most of the staff good (the waiters at breakfast seemed a bit tetchy). The location is ideal - close to some good restaurants and right on top of a glorious beach.

Beautiful place in an amazing setting - raw nature, scent of pine trees, clear sea & warm sand between my toes... <3 good food option for breakfast & dinner, nice bar and lovely garden area - all in all perfekt!

Our 3rd visit to this hotel so that says it all. We booked through Thomsons the only disadvantage this year was that we couldn't book a sea view. Our past two trips were in June but the October trip this year saw the hotel slightly busier than we were used too but still that didn't spoil anything. It is a... More

Decided to try a week here having stayed in the Porto Bay in Funchal. This is a similar, well run hotel, though I would say it falls a little below in terms of service - the staff are very obliging if you ask them to do something, but not particularly proactive. A case in point was that on arrival, we... More

We had previously stayed at the Porto Bay two years ago and our return visit was no disappointment. We were on B & B we had one evening meal in the hotel and unfortunately it was Brazilian night and was not to our liking. Poolside bar/food was very good. at lunchtime. Our room was spotless and well equipped. It did... More

I went with a friend to this hotel mid September, and also celebrated my birthday there. The hotel is perfect in every way. Its quiet and peaceful, but not stuffy. The rooms are well equipped and they are cleaned to a very high standard. You could have clean sheets and towels every day without being questioned. The staff were the... More

Spent two weeks here in September. Had a sea view and this is worth the extra money for the stunning views! Service very good and staff very friendly. Sunbeds in the garden area more peaceful and quieter than by the pool, and always easy to find even though some still feel it necessary to reserve theirs! The steps to beach... More

This was our second stay at the Porto bay Hotel. It was just as good as the first time if not better. Staff very friendly and can't do enough to make your stay special. Rooms very comfortable indeed. Spotlessly clean, we had a sea view this time, well worth it to look over the pool, gardens and cliffs in the distance,... More

Just returned today from the Porto Bay Falesia in Olhos De Aqua in the Algarve... and I can't stress how good this is. My Wife and I are in our 60's and we have stayed in over 100 hotels across the UK, Ireland, Greece, Spain, Egypt, Tunisia, Malta.. so when we say this is good.. we mean "GOOD". I honestly... More
