14/6/08 Having just returned from our holiday, we did enjoy visiting portugal. The hotel which has been taken over by first choice holiday village is not very geared for self catering holidays. We arrived at the hotel approx 18.30 and were told that we could not use the hotel resturant that night due to it having to be booked 24hrs in... more

There are many good things to say about te hotel. the cleanliness the size of the rooms the pool area's and amenities. The effort put in by the day and night entertainment staff is commendable, Unfotunately this is let down by by the poor location of the hotel, You really need a car as walking anywhere worth getting to is... more

My husband and I had a relaxing weeks break which is all we wanted. The rooms are large, balconies are large, weather was good. Not the place to be if you have young kids and are going to go out of the complex, not buggy friendly, and a 10 min not easy walk for young children to the beach. Staff... more

If you have booked All-Inclusive for this resort then my only advise would be to cancel it NOW. The food at this place is a disgrace and the dining facility is totally inadequate. They operate a split sitting system at night, first sitting 6.30 til 7.30, the doors then shut for 30 minutes and 2nd sitting is 8.00 til 9.30.... more

Just back from the alto da colina, these apartments are very clean and modern. The kids swimming pools and play areas are fantastic and the kids club has a lot going on at all times of the day. The beach is at least a fifteen minute walk away and the new town about twenty minutes. Avoid the food here at... more

myself my partner and our 3 year old daughter stayed here in May for a week. It is pretty new so hotel and apartments are all very clean :) We had thought apartments would be more spacious though but they did have all we needed pretty much. We were on the second floor at a corner apartment which was nice... more

We have just returned from a one week all inclusive stay at the Alto Da Colina or 'Holiday Village' as it is also known. This was our first visit to Portugal. We travelled as a family of five with our children aged 6, 4 and 21 months. Our Block 1, top floor, one bedroom apartment was spacious and modern. We... more

We have just returned from a week's holiday. Overall we had a fab time. The Hotel itself is lovely and the First Choice staff especially kids entertainers could not be faulted. We were there with our 2 yr old daughter and she enjoyed the creche. Activities are a bit limited for under 5s however you would expect that really. We... more

We have just returned from a week all inclusive in this First Choice holiday village and I have mixed views on it. We were contacted by our travel agent 2 days before we were due to travel to tell us we MAY have a room overlooking a almost complete hotel but that they would do their upmost to ensure we... more
