Went for 5 nights beginning of sept 2014, B&B breakfast was ok but nothing special, looked a nice pool but never went in, rooms decent, chamber maid and clean towels everyday, only news and music on English Channels, rooms could do with a make over but it was ok for price. Longish walk back up that hill though to get... More

After all the negative reviews I was worried about our 10night stay. On arrival was given the wrong room and was quickly resolved to a double large room on the 9th floor- large bathroom two sinks-powerful shower. The bed was a king size with extra pillows and blankets in the wardrobe. Lots of space in these also for all our... More

Once upon a time this would have been a spectacular place, but needs money spending on it now. The carpets are worn in places the plumbing doesn't work so well, and the lifts break down through over use. The rooms and balconies are massive though, beds comfy and wardrobes plentiful. The pool is bit small for the amount of guests.... More

Just back from 7 days at the Montechoro. Needs a lot of money spent on it. Carpets and curtains need replacing. The toilet was a disgrace. We had half board but went out for evening meals after the first 2 days. Not much food choice just one fish dish and one meat dish and never sure if it was pork... More

On first arriving at the Hotel Montechoro my first impression was yuck, the toilet in the room was disgusting, the tiles in the shower had black gunge instead of grout, the towels were clean but looked like they had been used for mopping the floor before being washed. We were told there would be a mini bar in the room,... More

Very nice hotel, although in places a little dated. Hotel about 20 minutes walk to beach but has a very clean pool area, which was managed very well by staff. Hotel at the top of a very long road with loads of restaurants and bars, very good location. We asked for more pillows and the staff were very accommodating to... More

The hotel Montechoro is ideally situated for a good holiday in Albufeira. The free bus takes you down to the beach at the bottom of the strip and also to to the old town. The breakfasts were adequate, plenty of choice, the usual, bacon, eggs, beans etc. Cleanliness was good and the linen was spotless. Our room was very large... More

On a rainy Friday in Dublin , looked up the web and it was either this hotel or Algiers. were the only choices left for my dates. Flew out the following Monday and got an early check in "brilliant". This was to be the only highlight of this hotel. The ceiling light have been removed throughout this hotel and it's... More

First of all, it's not a 4 stars hotel, my oppinion it't that in 1995 this hotel was very elegant and busy but unfortunately they didnt do any arrangements, the food it's poor, they changed only the fruits, and the rest was the same every day, english breakfast ( I am not going to Portugal to eat english breakfast );... Not long back from a week away in Hotel Montechoro, which in my opinion does not deserve its 4 star rating. As said before by others, the hotel is very dated and tired in terms of décor and is in desperate need of some TLC, a lick of paint and adequate lighting in the halls. The bedding was itchy and...
