booked flights and accomodation seperatly as worked out a big saving. Hired a car for the duration in advance and drove from airport..... one word of advice if doing this it is not very well signposted like all the other hotels but just look for the Modelo shopping centre and it is directly behind. Which is a good thing! the... more

Just returned from a 2 week stay in the Perola. The room was perfect and was cleaned daily with new towels provided. However the pool area was disgusting with cigratte buts lying around and in my time there I NEVER saw anyone washing or sweeping the pool area. The supermarket is excellant and both the strip and the oldtown and... more

Me and my friend were slightly apprehensive on the way to the apartments due to Thomson charging only 44pounds for 4 nights stay!! But when we arrived, we were welcomed by friendly staff and were pleasantly surprise with our one bed apartment. It was clean, simple and had a nice view of their huge pool from the balcony. There was... more

I went with my two young children, 12 and 3. There wasnt really much for kids although there was some fun parks but they were very expensive and could of been much cheaper! The beaches were very nice and clean could of been just a tiny bit more room but yes amazing. There was one problem "very good but could... more

The perola isn't exactly run down just a bit worn out. The studio room we had was fine and kitchen reasonably equipped. Arrival at reception was very poor - we were told flatly that our room wasn't ready and to come back in an hour! Eventually we were told to put our luggage in a baggage room and wait. After... more

lovely holiday, the room was huge, and really well equipped with a full kitchen. The apartments were really well located, not to busy, and as we have 3 children that was good. it is a really hilly place so i wouldnt go there if i had walking difficulties. The thomson reps were brilliant, and the kids clubs were great. The... more

Our first visit to Portugal in Oct. 2005. We had no expectations aside from hoping to have a good time. The Perola, while in need of some updates, suited us just fine. We always choose to stay in aparthotels, as opposed to hotels, because that's the way we like it and the Perola didn't disappoint. Apt. was large, all was clean... more
