One of the best inns in Portugal - the Albergaria is absolutely immaculate, and beautifully appointed with tile floors, artwork on the walls, mongrammed towels and sheets, and lovely decor throughout. Excellent service and management -- and a range of meal and beverage options available in a beautiful restaurant, and very nice, separate bar. And the views are incredible !... more

The Albergaria is a very good place to stay in the tiny hilltop town of Marvao. It's located inside the walls with several parking spaces right out front and is very peaceful and quiet. We stayed in a nice room with a view over the walls and across the frontier into Spain. The bed was comfortable, and there was ample... more

This is a charming hotel with spacious rooms and wonderful views (at least from ours and our friends rooms). You can drive right through the entraceway to Marvao and be there in seconds. Plenty of parking, at least when we went. We went down for a drink late at night and I believe the bartender was closing up, but happily... more

This lovely small inn is in a perfect location - close to the town gates as you enter this fabulous walled city. Parking was plentiful and easy. Our room was comfortable and very quiet, even though it is on the road as you enter Marvao. There is very little traffic - especially at night. We checked out the menus at... more

Once again, we were led to the perfect choice by tripadvisor reviewers. This inn is easy to find in this charming town of twisted, narrow streets. As soon as you go through the town gates, the albergaria is straight ahead. You will be warmly greeted by Dom Manuel. He is the designer, owner and proprietor and is quite proud of... more

What a little gem of a place. Spectacular views, clean, spacious room. Quaint restaurant with excellent food and service. I can't speak highly enough of our host Manuel who was very gracious and aimed to please. Great value for the money. more

We stay at the Albergaria for one night, from 25th til 26th of April. We booked the room by phone directly to the hotel, we were lucky since it was the last room available. Finding the Hotel and parking place near the hotel it's easy, there are indications when you arrive in the main gate of the village. The check-in... more

Conveniently located just inside the village gate allows for pleasant walks up through the streets to the castle. The staff were pleasant and friendly, although most speak only a little English. The room was adorable and there was a private balcony with lovely views. The restuarant was very nice and the waiter talked to us about the town. The food... more

This hotel is much better than the Pousada. The service at the Pousada was terrible; I don't know why but it may be that half the city owns Pousadas while the other half is doled out to the private. Maybe there's not enough interest in the city to run a nice hotel. One thing I did like over the Marvao... more

When we arrived at this hotel the streets were all torn up because new sewer lines were being installed in the city. The parking area in front of the hotel was mud. Hotel personnel were hard to find and slow to respond to the desk bell and we felt at times more like invaders than guests. In fact, when we... more
