I've booked two rooms, double bed room designed for maximum 2 adults because we were three. The room itself was actually somewhat smaller than I was expecting for the money but our room was very comfortable and had a nice bathroom. Breakfast the next morning was served at the restaurant just down the street and would have cost 5 euros... More

We expected that it would be difficult to find the property having read other reviews but we came upon it with ease. The problem was gaining access. Although marketed as a separate property is is run as an annex to the Hotel Dom Denis. After several fruitless enquiries and being after hours for the Tourist Office I eventually telephoned the... After driving to the top of a mountain at around 900mtrs above sea level you come to the town gate which looks impossible to enter with a car.You then drive along a cobbled track to the town square ,on your left is the gibbet and to the right a hanging sign outside the hotel bar with the restaurant above which... We really enjoyed our stay at this small guesthouse located right in the middle of Marvao. Our en-suite double room was a small but spotless and we had an amazing view from our window. Breakfast the next morning was served at the restaurant just down the street and was perfect - orange juice, coffee with hot milk, fresh rolls, cheese,... More

When you drive through the narrow entrance to Marvão, the first "square" you come to is the main square. The "Varanda Do Alentejo" is right next to it. We were met right there in the parking and shown to our rooms. There is a flight of stairs to climb. Both rooms (a twin and a double) were nice and overlooked... More

It wasn't our first time in Marvão or in Varanda do Alentejo. We've stayed there before and keep going back because we like it so much. The rooms are super clean, with great bathrooms and stunning views out of our room window, for a very reasonable price! Its equipped with free internet, and air conditioned spacious rooms. Breakfast is included... More

We loved this little bed and breakfast for its location, price, comfort and free parking right outside the hotel. Fernando, our host/bartender/waiter/tourist information guide was very friendly, obliging and warm. He made us feel very welcome and at home here. This little place has 5 ensuite bedrooms over 2 floors. One of the bedrooms opens onto the little lobby downstairs.... More

This is a restaurant with rooms in Mervao, which is the highest town in Portugal. Mervao is wonderful. Shame about the Veranda. The rooms are a new investment by the rather jolly owner of the restaurant, and are a converted terrace house just across the street. The street is narrow and cobbled, but the restaurant is opposite a tiny square... More
