I was happy staying there. The woman at the counter when I arrived didn't speak English but for checking in I didn't need it. When a light in the room didn't work, cage owner immediately came to fix it. He spoke some English and was never far when needed. Baggage storage was no problem. The owner was also helpful by... The hotel is in a wonderful location for visiting Evora, just a short walk from the Praca do Giraldo. We visited in the off-season, so perhaps the staff wasn't ready for us. The hotel seemed strangely deserted, although the proprietor told me there were 3 or 4 other rooms occupied. I wasn't surprised that we saw no other guests, but... More

I reserved 2 rooms in the morning, talking on the phone with the manager. He asked my mobile number. We arrived there at 1 pm and ... SURPRISE! There was only one room for my reservation -a family of 5. The woman at the reception was only-portuguese speaker and she wasn't skilled at all in managing the hotel. The manager... More

I am puzzled by some of the other reviews. The place is clean, and the traditional furniture and fittings are very nice. But: We did not meet anyone who seemed or behaved like an owner. The lady receptionist we met on arrival could not speak one word in English. Our room was extremely small, not really suited to two persons.... More

Fantastic place. The rooms are clean and good. Staff are very friendly and helpful. The location is perfect. Near the historic centre with resturants and cafés near. Parking is outside the city walls, but it´s easy to go to the hotel by foot. No elevador and the stairs are hard to climb with the lugage. WIll be back.

The owners are two brothers who clearly enjoy guests and like to talk about their country and what it has to offer. the location is excellent in the heart of the old city; but on a main medieval drag so you can drive your car in to drop off the bags. We we re directed to free parking outside the... More

The hotel is in a great spot for walking to the center of all the attractions. Staff are very friendly and helpful. However, if you have trouble with stairs, its a steep climb from the street to the hotel with no elevator. Parking is down the street outside the city walls but was a quick walk back. Light sleepers should... More

We followed Rick Steves' suggestions for a 2 wk visit to Portugal and were satisfied with his selections, including os manueis. The problem with this hotel is the street - it's very close to Giraldo Square and bars and the street noise stopped around 2 a.m and picked up again around 5 a.m. Other than the street noise, we found... We picked Residencial Os Manueis because it had good reviews, and it looked convenient since we had a car and would not have to drive very far into the walled area of Evora. The hotel was lovely, but there were a couple of issues. Evora had changed its rules/laws, and the hotel no longer had the use of free parking... More

The hotel it self was lovely...the hosts were extremely friendly and full of great recommendations but there were some problems that we ran into... Unfortunately, our room (though very spacious and comfortable) was located directly on the cobblestoned road and you could hear everything outside all night - cars that drove by...people talking...party-goers way down the road...it was very difficult...
