Perfect location in the heart of the old city, full of character as you'd expect from a converted 16th century mansion. Clean, comfortable and very welcoming staff. Breakfast on the terrace should not be missed! Tricky to find if you're arriving after dark by car through the maze of narrow one-way streets, but absolutely worth the effort. It is signposted... The best thing about this hotel is location, because you can walk from here everywhere by foot. The hotel doesnt have it's own restautant, also wi-fi didnt work in our room. There is car parking near hotel but you have to pay.

This 16th century home converted to a hotel is in a great location and was very comfortable. The breakfast is worth doing, as it had a variety of fruits, juice, pastries, and more. The negatives were that we had to change our room (which was fine) but the new room had some minor issues that could have been so easily... More

This is an old palace, clean, comfortable, frendly helpful staff. The building may lack some mod cons but makes up for it in atmosphere. Close to all the attractions of evora it was a good location. Make sure to ask directions at the desk as street signs for walkers are sadly lacking. Breakfast was good, no choice ,however of cooked items, only scrambled egg.

Access to the room had no light. The room was dark ace and the switch was not flagged. The TV did not work. I've been waiting 10 minutes for the hot water. The entire hotel was in darkness, and including the living room.

If you're looking for a typical hotel - look somewhere else. This is an old building, no wi-fi in the rooms, old furniture, creaky door, etc. But what an excellent place if you really want to get the feeling of an old town of Evora! Go there, enjoy a room almost like in an old inn, the beautiful terrace and... More

The hotel is in an old castle or very large estate with beautiful rooms, unique furniture, and amazing nooks and crannies everywhere that you can relax in. The place is like living in a museum. But, the bathrooms are modern and have all the conveniences one would want including large tubs. The breakfast is served in a lovely dining room... More

The location was great. However, the hotel had many flaws. There was black mold in the bathtub shower. The toilet seat was broken and despite requests to be fixed, it was not properly fixed and was broken again. The ceiling fan squeaked and our request that it be fixed was not answered. The air conditioning was ineffective. The locks on... More

If you're looking for wifi, updated rooms, and the latest in creature comforts, this isn't your place. But if you're looking for a dated but beautiful stay in a creaky and comfortable old building that feels a bit like home, look no further. The rooms are a bit sparse, the beds comfortable but no-frills. Everything works (with the exception of... More

Tricky to find the first time and to locate parking, the Monfalim is otherwise well placed for exploring little Evora. It is only a few short blocks from the main shopping street and center of town, yet quiet. Had the weather been better, we may have enjoyed the terrace - but it is a smoking area. The 30 steps up...
