Staying with the lovely people of Monte do Serrado de Baixo was one of the highlights of our Portugal trip. Joana and the rest of the staff gave us a warm welcome to the atmospheric and carefully maintained farmhouse in a typical Alentejo style. We really liked the common room and kitchen with honor pantry. And the breakfasts are simply... More

We stayed for five days at Monte do Serrado de Baixo during a travel through Portugal in June 2014. We truly appreciated the friendly welcome, the superb breakfast, the nice and helpful hosts, as well as the peaceful surrounding countryside. We enjoyed the 'cork room' with direct acess to the lovely garden and we very much liked the spacious, cozy... More

We stayed here for a week while doing the 7 day cycling in paradise self guided tour. It was fantastic. the accommodation is quiet and peaceful with spacious rooms. Very clean. The breakfasts and dinners are good. There are also good common areas and an honour system for wine, beer and nibbles. The cycling was also excellent - interesting and... More

Great farmhouse about 6km out of Evora. We wanted to do some easy no fuss cycling and Joana made this work perfectly for us. The bikes were good and maps available. The surrounding country side was lovely. Great breakfast- you have to try the fresh orange cake!! The farmhouse itself was comfortable and clean with some nice touches like the... More

Comfortable room, friendly and helpful staff. The location is very quiet, set outside of Evora (about 15 minutes by car), and rather difficult to find. However the staff emailed us a map and we found it ok. We stayed in the Cork Room (double bed) and could sit outside the room in the garden in the evening. Recommended!

Stayed in the "wine" room, quite spacious but a bit humid. The farm is located in a very quiet environnement. Good breakfast with home made orange cake. Delicious! Without driving instructions, not easy to find.

Our evening at the Quinta was lovely, and we left only wanting to stay more. I must say that the restaurant Divoor was one of the best meals I had in Portugal. I highly recommend it for the food location, simple ambiance and most definitely the price.

The Monte is a large farm house that has been renovated recently to be a guest house. There is a common area with a huge fireplace, large screen TV, games and WIFI. Individual bedrooms have four piece ensuite bathrooms and a patio with table and chairs. The rooms are themed by the production of the region,. We stayed in the... More

The Monte do Serrado de Baixo Team received us very friendly. The property was simply perfect, the breakfast was excellent with a lot of fabulous regional food. The whole house is very comfortable and clean. We`re looking forward to our next trip to Alantejo and Monte do Serrado de Baixo.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Our guest house is a traditional country house, with very white walls and a blue stripe all around. There is a beautiful garden which invites to reading a book or having a glass of wine, a pool to freshen up in warm days and a fire place to warm you up in the winter. Each room is decorated to a theme (cork, wine, cereal and olives) and the farm around it shows a bit of all these themes. Here you will feel at home! Our buffet breakfast is included in the rates and it has homemade jams, cake and bread, and local cheeses and chorizos. If you want more than relaxing, we have suggestions of visits to do around the region and we organize walking, cycling, canoeing and jeep tours. ... more   less
