Stayed here 6 nights and was very pleased with the whole experience. The coffee in the morning was not good and the orange juice was powdered. My other half is a coffee buff so mentioned this to the receptionist and had fresh squeezed and espresso every morning thereafter. Room was very comfortable with good beds, a large flat screen tv... I recently stayed at this charming hotel in Beja for two weeks while serving on a volunteer project with Global Volunteers (teaching English within the local schools). Clean, quiet, and very homey...Residencial Bejense was the perfect locale to learn about and explore the local community. Very friendly staff with a nice daily breakfast with strong, tasty and copious amounts of... More

Charming historic hotel. We spent 2 days in a spacious room with a essential bathroom both very clean and nicely decorated. The pensiont is located in a perfect position of this beautiful little village. Breakfast was superb, the friendly staff served good coffee and an incredible choice of local food. Delightful stay.

This hotel is ideal in the centre of this town. |The rooms were smalish but that might be because it had one of the biggest beds I have ever slept in. The room was comfortable and resonably quiet. A couple of places to eat and one even next door sold good food at a reasonable price. The breakfasst was good... More

Found this place in Lonely Planet. Right in the center of town. Front desk staff very friendly. Got a very nice room, not large but with a small balcony facing the main street for E40. Parking is about a block away. Beds were very comfortable, AC was nice to have. One flight of steps up to the room. Breakfast was... More

I booked for 1 night while on my way to the Algarve. It is located in the historic pedestrian part of town, so you have to walk with your luggage. Upon my arrival I was directed to my room facing the street. It was very quiet at night. When I reached my room I found the air-con already on so... More

The location of the hotel, personel, breakfast all good. Unfortunately the bathrooms were not clean, the rooms of medium size (but that is predictable in a mansion-based hotel). As we were travelling with kids, the biggest issue was the lack of an elevator and the baby cots were simply too small :). Still if travelling through Beja, do consider it... More

Thoroughly enjoyed my stay in this wonderful, historic pension with its quirky decor. Spacious well appointed room with a small bathroom. Extremely friendly and helpful service. Located right in the middle of this delightful, low key, historic town. Great local restaurant right next door and easy walking distance along the cobbled streets to historic sights. Delightful stay.

We arrived in Beja--impulsively--having changed our travel plans on our bus/train trip through southern Portugal. We had changed buses in Beja enroute to Mertola, and had thought Beja looked like an intriguing little town. So--on the way back, we stopped for a night in Beja. The Residential was recommended in one of our guidebooks and was fairly close to the... More

The Residencial Bejense is a lovely family owned hotel in Beja - definitely the sweetest place in town if you appreciate unique charm (in a good way!) The rooms are all different and decorated by the owners. Everything is very clean and simple. It is obvious that the owners take pride in their business and will go out of their... More
