Stayed two nights, comfortable and warm (mid december) no real concerns, if I was being picky it would have been nice to have tea making facilities in the room. (brits take your own Tetley tea bags because its only that weak lipton stuff in the restaurant). Would certainly stay here again staff were helpful and pleasant at all times.

Stayed here for three nights, breakfast lovely. A bit out of the way for the town. Stayed in the annexe and must say very nice and modern. The grounds of the hotel very interesting. Another ideal hotel to do your WW1 battle tours

The main building set back from the road looked attractive if a little rustic and we believed we had booked a room in that main building . The booking website we used only showed pictures of rooms in that part so we were surprised to be told our room was in a new block situated across the car park, closer... More

The hotel is full of character and in beautiful grounds with it's own WWI tunnels and crater. Our room was spacious and immaculate with everything we needed. The dining room and bar were lovely and the breakfast was very fresh. I can't understand why this is only a 3 star hotel, it should be 4 star at least - it's... More

A group of 8 of us had a three night stay here last week. We usually stay in Ypres but as you can imagine nothing was available. We actually booked this holiday 2 years ago to guarantee being able to attend the remembrance service in Ypres. On arrival there was some confusion as to room allocations but it was soon... More

Just a pity we were only staying one night. Hotel steeped in history. Had a lovely room in the main building, big and welcoming. Staff friendly and helpful. Nice meal and good breakfast. Would stay again.

The hotel website describes it as built in English cottage style, there is a lovely photo of it too. When we arrived we were blown away by its beautiful setting, even though it was raining it seemed very warm and welcoming. The replica of the Hooge Crater in the grounds lends an air of reality, you feel transported back in... More

If you want a place with history this is definitely the spot. Very quiet and original setting. We stayed in the family room in the old building. Beds are comfortable and the rooms are nicely done with good sound isolation. Breakfast was okay but no surprises here. Location is really exquisite for excursions.

This hotel has clean spacious rooms The whole place can best be discribed as ' somewhat tired'. The staff are well hidden, and if you do find one they could do with some hospitality education, however, the evening meals, a la carte, were good to very good. Breakfast was the usual continental cold meats, cheeses etc. This place is pure... More

The staff may not be the most charming and the décor a bit tired, but the rooms are a good size and the beds comfortable and clean. It does not rate highly on sound insulation and so I imagine if the hotel was full and guests a bit rowdy this would be a big negative, it did not effect us... More
