Whilst visiting War Cemetaries / Museums in Belguim & France I booked 16 people into Old Tom ypres on the basis of reviews placed, I was very dissappointed NO member of staff was there to welcome us and we had to wait in the rain for a staff member to arrive. I was also disgusted the seem to be Manager... more

Perfect location near the old Cloth Hall/museum, walking distance to Menin Gate and a ton of restaurants and chocolate shops. Small breakfast included (just bread, jam and cheese) but restaurant has other menu.... tried the waffles, they were amazing! Room nice but you must ask in advance for room with view of the town courtyard. No hairdryer! Weekday mornings are... more

We have stayed at the OLd Tom several times - not only are they freindly, speal wonderful English, but nothing is too much trouble! When I messed up a booking (my own fault! ) they were so helpful and spent much time on the tekpephone arraging another hotel for us! So we deceided to eat at the Old Tome that... more

I was touring the 1st World War battlefields with three friends and we stayed at the Old Tom for two nights on a half board basis. The hotel is well situated right in the centre of Ypres near to the In Flanders Fields Museum and close to shops, cafes and restaurants. The rooms we had (12 and 17) were adequate... more

We stayed at the Old Tom last year and went back this year with our daughter and Son-in-Law. The Old Tom has lots going for it, but what it doesn't have is; smart check-in, lift, coffee/tea making facilities,sauna/pool or Sat/TV etc! What it does have is an ideal position, helpfull, friendly staff and great food. We stayed in room 13,... more

We stayed at Old Tom for 6 nights, 28 August to 3 Sept 2008. We asked for a twin room (en suite) looking on to the Market 'Square'. The room was basic but very, very clean as was the whole Hotel. Obviously, there was a lot of noise until way after midnight and from about 6.00 a.m each morning but... more

Stayed two nights 6/7 August 2008 - this Hotel was recommended by family members. Ideally situated to visit Flanders Fields War Grave sites/Menin Gate ceremony. We had Room 13 (!!) which was rather over-filled with slighlty aged furniture, but comfortable. Bathroom was purpose built, new and very functional. Breakfast was basic: bread rolls ham, cheese, jam, tea or coffee. Very... more

The hotel has a great location on the main square in Ypres. The staff were friendly and the rooms were clean. The hotel is very basic but you get what you pay for. You can park opposite the hotel for 1euro a night or you can request underground secure parking 300m from the hotel for 8euros a night. The last... more

The hotel is placed centrally and is clean. The staff are also friendly and helpful. We were placed at the back of the building in an attic with no window only a roof light so we had no views at all. The decor was tired and shabby and the hotel is in dire need of a lick of paint and... more
