The staff were very friendly and helpful and the three course meal the best value around the town square of Ypres. The three course meal was excellent value and the food was provided in an efficient way. The ambiance was excellent.

Dreadful room, dreadful breakfast. My advice just book somewhere else in central Ypres. The town is not big so any hotel is in striking distance of the square and Menin Gate. It's old, run down and not very clean. Don't bother.

We visited the Old Tom last year so knew what to expect so it was our first choice for our return visit. The booking process was straight forward, via email with the owner Christine with no upfront payment. It maybe worth noting I don't believe there are on hotel internet sites. One of the best things about the Old Tom... More

On arriving we were told that we were double booked. Our booking for 5people had been made months before and we had a printout confirming it. The woman at reception disregarded this and sent us away without an apology or any offer of help to find alternative accommodation. We were disgusted by her attitude

I arrived in Iepers late on a Saturday with no reservation. A bar manager told me to try Old Tom and that I would like it. The staff were very pleasant and efficient. The room was older but clean and adequately supplied. The rate was 66 Euros + 2 E city tax. The hotel is located in the city centre... More

Don't expect 5 star luxury here. It's clean and comfortable and the owners are very friendly. We have stayed here several times over the last 15 years and it always seems like coming home. Christine is the real driving force here. The location could not be better as it's right on the main square, a couple of hundred metres from... More

If you are doing the Battlefields tour with a mate this place is great. If you want a romantic weekend break with your partner they will be disappointed. Me and my mate stayed here for two nights in rooms 13&16 both at the back of the hotel with no view. Not a problem for us. Yes the rooms are basic... More

Excellent location in this wonderful town, ideally placed for many sites, Menin Gate, Cloth Hall, St Georges Memorial Church and Cathedral within a short walk. Ok the place is a bit rickety when you go through to the rooms but to be honest it added to its charm. I was fortunate to get the room at the top and front... More

Excellent location on the square and underground cure parking available. Free wifi throughout. Great food available and friendly and personable owner and staff. Rooms in need of renovation and rubberised mattress protectors not pleasant. Alright for boys night out but if with wife or girlfriend, eat here but stay elsewhere.

Called here on spec early in the year for two nights. Wonderfully old fashioned in the bar and restaurant. Great view of the square from the bedroom window on the second night but not the first night we were at the very top and its no joke with no lift, however a room became vacant on the first floor which...
