We stayed one night in the Churchill apartment and wished it was longer. Our host Benoit was excellent and took the time to tell us the history of the apartment and also gave us some useful local information. The apartment is immaculate and full of some very interesting items from the war. It is in a great location literally across... More

This is a fine place to stay when visiting Ypres...it is well-located, well-run, full of interesting artefacts and the perfect point from which to explore the very sobering and moving history of the area. Literally just across the road from the Menin Gate, it is a about a seven minute walk into the Grote Markt. We had the apartment comprising... More

We were in Ypres to witness the Last Post ceremony at the Menin Gate, and to revisit the Flanders Fields Museum. For convenience, Menin Gate House is unbeatable - the Menin Gate memorial is just across the street. But more than that, it is a superb place to stay whatever the reason for a visit to the area. Great care... More

Six of us stayed in Iepers on Saturday 9th November - a very appropriate weekend to be at the Menin Gate. We were so lucky to have found and been able to book this wonderful accommodation within a few footsteps of the Gate. Over the years I have stayed in many lovely self catering properties but this place is probably... More

This is a most marvellous place to stay. Steps away from the Menin Gate and it's Last Post ceremony. Our host could not have been more helpful and kind. Price is very reasonable. Creature comforts are all there. Within a five minute walk to the town centre. A must stay!!

When we parked outside, we thought that we might have found the wrong place. The location cannot be bettered, the apartment is great. Benoir, was the perfect host and he is involved in the Menin Gate ceremony. The dining room has the bugles of previous ceremonies as well as memorabilia from the great war. The residents of Ypres(Leper) clearly have... More

My family stayed at Menin Gate House for 2 nights, to see the WWI sites. Benoit, the owner, was extremely helpful and nothing was too much trouble. He will advice the WWI sites to see. Let him take you to the ceremony at the Menin Gate - you will have the best experience. The house is beautifully decorated, the rooms... More

Your host, Benoit, chairman of The Last Post Committee in Ypres, will tell you, once you are inside and in front of his copy of the picture of “The Menin Gate At Night”, that hangs upon his poppy painted wall, that the ghosts of all the missing will rise at midnight; and appear like a mist of allied and moonlit...
