Just returned from our first visit to Ieper and were fortunate to book at Cavells. Muriel and Roger are super hosts, nothing is too much trouble. Very comfortable, first class breakfast and decent parking outside. We also enjoyed two battlefield tours with Roger who has a tremendous knowledge of WW1 and brought it to life for us. Certainly recommend the... More

Fantastic hosts Roger and Muriel at Cavells who looked after every wish we made. Knowledge of the area second to none even providing organised tours of the battle fields which is a must as you even get an opportunity to stop off and pick up fresh strawberries from a farm and more! Muriel's recommendation of restaurants and things to do... More

We went to the Ypres region for one day in our travels and decided to stay the night. Thankfully the Cavells B&B were recommended from the tourist information centre in town and we found our way to the B&B (its only 5mins walk from the town centre). We were greeted by the wonderful Muriel who showed us to our room... More

We stayed here for 2 nights - it was a 10 minute walk, if that, from Ypres Railway Station and about another 10 minute walk to the historic town square - so a great location all in all and if you were driving it looked like plenty of parking just outside. We had the ground floor room which was very... More

We had a ground floor room just off the breakfast room. The room was acceptable, a little bland and not that big. Having just stayed in a superior B&B in Antwerp the previous three nights at the same price, we were a little disappointed. Room facilities are fairly basic, we are deep sleepers so we weren't woken up by road... More

Within a few minutes of Ypres rail station Cavells is also only a very short walk to the town centre. The welcome from Roger and Muriel was warm and the room very clean. A good breakfast was provided at the start to each of the two days we stayed. We booked a guided tour with Roger of some of the... More

This was our second visit as we had previously been in the very cold winter. Summer was even more fantastic. Close to the battlefields and Belgium's biggest amusement park . It was a pleasure to go back and stay with such lovely people. Have recommended this as the only place to stay in Ypres for all it's amazing qualities

we stayed here on our way home from Italy on a motorbike - so were very impressed by the comfort of this B+B. Lovely clean room, great shower and fantastic bed ( wonderful memory foam mattress!!). The hosts were very friendly, without being over the top or in your face. After 2 weeks on continentals the english breakfast was a... More

First of all, Cavells is in a superb location; quiet but very easy walking distance into Ypres centre and there is easy access off road parking opposite. We had a double en-suite room and it was lovely. Spacious, very clean and a warm and modern feeling. Roger and Muriel were lovely hosts and made us feel very much at home.... More

We stayed in November 2012 for the Armistice weekend. This fab B&B run by Roger and Muriel is warm, friendly and - well - wonderful. A short walk from the main square, you get to see glimpses of daily life and great architecture in this beautiful town that you may miss if you stayed a bit further in. I have... More

As this is a personalised tour service we can of course stop at a cemetery of your choice if you wish to visit a particular grave or memorial. We also offer a relaxed walking tour of Ypres detailing stories of the town not only in WW1 but more unusually in WW2 also. Hear the story of the Menin Gate, terrible events during WW1 , true stories of the resistence and escaping airmen during WW2. Both tours are very popular and it is wise to book in advance.Of course Cavells guests benefit from a residents reduction in price on advertised tour rates!!! ... more   less
