Ypres was on our list of places to revisit during our road trip holiday. Luck was on our side when we stopped that day. We received the warmest of welcomes in an exquisite décor. Our host, Carine, was most helpful and armed with her advice and knowledge our visit was a success. From attending the Last Post ceremony in good... More

We wanted a good hotel while spending 3 days with guided tours of the Ypres/Somme and nearby World War I battlefields, and we hit the jackpot with the Main Street Hotel this July. The owner is a wonderful woman who provides one of the best breakfasts possible (wild boar sausage was one of the offerings made locally by a friend... More

When asking where he should fetch us, our guide to the Somme told us we had booked into "the best B&B in Europe", and how true his words were! Carine is warm, welcoming, efficient, hard working, attentive to the tiniest detail, and has a wonderful sense of humour. She is also a fount of information and good advice. We never... More

A fabulous hotel….we stayed for 2 nights in the Pottery Room with it's fabulous patio area, and our relatives stayed in Atelier with it's amazing wallpaper and round bath tub!!! The hotel is full of quirky area's and decorations, is decorated to the highest standard and is spotlessly clean. Breakfast had everything and more that you could wish for (the... More

Lovely boutique hotel; everything immaculate. Friendly service, engaging rooms, lovely breakfast and in the centre of Ypres with easy parking and access. A fabulous base for a trip to the area. Thoroughly recommended.

We stayed at the Main Street Hotel on a three night trip to the WW1 Battlefields. We were in the Pottery and Altia rooms on the ground floor and the rooms both had private terraces and were a fabulous retreat at the end of the day (would particularly recommend the Pottery terrace). Carine was a wonderful hostess and the welcome,... More

Just read the reviews for this place and you will understand why anyone visiting Ypres/Ieper must stay at this hotel. Our stay started with the lovely Carine offering us a selection of Belgian beers while she reviewed places to visit, restaurants, etc. Carine was so lovely to talk with and was incredibly hospitable and friendly. She helped us get information... More

Words can hardly describe how wonderful our stay at the Main street hotel was. We asked for a room on the ground floor and this room was accessed via the garden and a gate, so we had our own little garden. The room is spacious with a wonderful bed and a great bathroom. Breakfast is in one word perfect, with... More

We recently booked two rooms for ourselves and our friends to stay three nights at Carine & Stefan's Main Street hotel in Ypres and it is the most fantastic boutique, quirky, fun, welcoming hotel I have ever stayed at. The moment you walk in the door you are greeted with a wonderful welcome plus a drink of your choice, a... More

My husband and I have just spent three nights in this amazing hotel. We stayed in the Pottery room. We had a lovely terrace we could sit on and the room was immaculate. Attention to detail was superb. Our breakfast was a delight and I have come home with the rice pudding recipe and cannot wait to make it with... More
