We recently booked two rooms for ourselves and our friends to stay three nights at Carine & Stefan's Main Street hotel in Ypres and it is the most fantastic boutique, quirky, fun, welcoming hotel I have ever stayed at. The moment you walk in the door you are greeted with a wonderful welcome plus a drink of your choice, a... More

My husband and I have just spent three nights in this amazing hotel. We stayed in the Pottery room. We had a lovely terrace we could sit on and the room was immaculate. Attention to detail was superb. Our breakfast was a delight and I have come home with the rice pudding recipe and cannot wait to make it with... More

We have just comeback from a lovely stay at The Main Street Hotel. The room we stayed in was immaculate with amazing attention to detail. The air cooling was adjustable and so effective, often hotels are stuffy and uncomfortable , not here ! There are so many lovely and unusual things to look and this made our stay really memorable.... Yes this is a gem. Welcomed by the charming host who greeted us with warmth, wit and a smile. Quickly resolved the issue of our overly heavy luggage by proposing a change of room to a ground floor room which we happily accepted and were thrilled with our decision when we walked through the door. A stylishly decorated spacious and... More

This hotel is a gem, and one of the best that I have had the pleasure to stay in. We were made so welcome on our arrival and had a lovely room overlooking the Church on the First Floor. The drinks from the Room Bar are free and breakfast was a feast. We stayed two days, but could have spent... More

My husband and I drove from Arras, France to Ieper, Belgium July 5-8th. Upon stepping into the lobby of the Main Street Hotel, we quickly fell in love with the charm of the hotel and the warmth and character of our host, Carriene. Her attention to detail and overwhelming dedication to service proved that every dollar spent to stay at... More

From the time we arrived to the time we left, it was a superb experience. We stayed 2 nights in the Pottery room. The small private courtyard was a sun trap, lovely. Upon arrival we were greeted with a welcome drink and given all the necessary information on Ypres. We were shown our room and everything was explained from the... More

A great Hotel that has been carefully and beautifully appointed by Carine. Nothing is too much trouble and she was really helpful on our visit. The situation of the Hotel is really good for all the sights of Ypres and the surrounding area. The bedroom was really comfortable with some amazing and quirky decor. The Breakfast was excellent and was... More

This hotel is an amazing experience. Great location. Rooms are well appointed with cute little decorations. You would think you are in a luxury 5 star hotel. Absolutely nothing to fault. ** if you're going to visit the Menin Gate, get to the gate by 715pm at the latest. The crowds are huge.

We spent one night here last weekend, occupying two rooms: 'Top' and 'Experiment'. The names alone give you some indication of the quirky nature of the place, with a design and look that is quirky and unique. What other hotel room ('Experiment', of course) comes complete with lab coat and chemistry books? When else have you stayed in a place... More
