I enjoyed my stay in the Damier on account of the hotel’s history, beautiful facade and common areas, the central location, and the convenient (pay) car park. On the downside, as others have stated, the rooms are somewhat overdue for some investment (there is a project ongoing to achieve this). What did NOT impress me was the lack of a... More

The hotel was right in the middle of Kortrijk, a beautiful city with very old and nice buildings. It is abut 10 walking minutes from the train station. When I visited the hotel there was a hughe kermis around. The Grote Markt was full with amusement and food booths. But, actually the only disappointing point was that the hotel had... More

Three of us stayed three nights in basic (called 'superior') rooms 20 and 33. Small rooms (only space for the bed, desk and one hard-backed chair) but bathrooms more spacious, fitted with tub with shower attachment - no shower as such. TV, free wifi, air-conditioning, safe, hairdryer, fridge containing complimentary still and sparkling mineral water - not actually a mini-bar.... More

I have stayed at this hotel on around 8 occasions always a nice good feeling to return here, it's on the main market square in the town so it's very close to everything, but it's closing this Christmas for a remodel - not sure that it will be the same as I fear it will become a bland multi national... I can not find any fault with this hotel, just what we expected. The only problem we had was trying to find the hotel car park, but that was mainly due to my partner reading the instructions up side down!!!! Very much recommend this hotel... Andre from High Wycombe

Situated on the central city square you are right in the heart of continental cafe culture. Opposite the hotel are numerous cafe's and restaurants with tables and chairs outside to sit and watch the world go by. The hotel is on the small side for a Grand Hotel but very pretty in it's appearance. The classic facade, the foyer and... More

Stayed here with my wife and what a great welcome. We arrived in a large Luton Van and of course did not expect to park it easy, but this hotel has there own private parking for only 12 euros, the young lady behind the desk explained us perfectly where the parking was. The room absolutely fantastic, very large and very... More

I came to Kortrijk for work and the only thing I needed was reliable wifi. Well, I did not get this in the Damier Hotel, unfortunately. Very disappointing, specially considering the price and the time of the year (loads of people in town for the Biennale). Other than that, everything is good, but nowadays a hotel can't afford to have... More

A stately building full of delightful corners, worthy of investigation. The room with Jaccuzzi was a delight and the BBC on TV says that they care about catering to one of the world's leading travelling nations. Seventh floor was a bit of a choker given that the lift bordered on dangerous one shuts the door and watches all the floors... More
