The hotel is tired and is currently being renovated. Rooms are clean but very basic. We used the hotel with a national tour operator and really can't complain as it was not expensive. We were on the 3rd floor and the room was cleaned and towels changed every day. The staff were very friendly and the food was adequate (all... more

We stayed at this hotel as part of a deal with Gold Crest Holidays. Whilst not expecting too much as the deal was cheap, we did expect to be able to sleep in the room ! The room we were allocated was tiny. As you opened the lift door the room was a step away. The only plus point was... more

We went with National Holidays. Hotel needs decorating outside, and apparently is soon to be done. The foyer, dining room and bar area are all nice. The staff are very helpfull as are the waitresses. The food was plentyful, and you were always asked if you wanted more. I didnt here anyone complain about food and the waitresses are very... more

A very small room with en suite facilities which were so small you couldn't move. Only a concertina door made it a seperate room. The curtaind did not hang on the hooks and the room was in need of decorating. The towels and bedding were very clean. The food was adequate and the staff friendly. The price of a double... more

We booked a short break covering the New Year period with a local company and found we were staying at the New Astoria. First impressions on entering the reception area were good but these were soon to change. The floors are accessed by two lifts (if one could be described as a lift) and stairs. Rising to the second floor... more

Single Bedroom not much more than broom cupboard very primative and dark. Very antiquated furniture very sparce. On-Suite better than actual bedroom. Curtains not hanging on all hooks. One thing you can say it was clean. SIngle Beds was more like a leather couch with mattress. Louge/Bar needs a refurb paper in places coming off and furniture very stained. Dining... more

We travelled to a Christmas Market tour for the weekend. The hotel rooms stank of tobacco. My mother (who is in her 80s) and I were put in room 501. The room was OK except that the bathroom was was so small that there was no bath it was the size of a shower but the height of a bath.... more

We have just got back from a Christmas Markets trip with National Holidays and found the whole trip excellent value for money. We paid £129 for 5 days (4 nights) and had inclusive trips to Bruge and Brussel markets. The driver Geoff was a great guy. He always had a smile and was very friendly, nothing to much trouble for... more
