Just returned from 4 night stay. We went with Shearings (Battlefields Tour),and had a set menu , and,the food was very good. Hotel completely satisfactory, great location just off seafront, good size room, clean and comfortable. Staff very helpful ,especially Lorna behind the bar and the young man who served on her evening off. A very pleasant stay.

if you are considering a coach tour which uses this hotel (eg with Caledonian Travel), you really may want to reconsider. The food served is truly awful, and the service/attitude of the staff in the dining room is very poor. In particular, 2 head waiters, one of whom was modelling himself on Basil Fawlty, stand out as being particularly arrogant... More

Room was clean, plenty of fresh towels if needed. BUT I was told that because I was late for dinner one evening I couldn't have a 'starter'. "Shearings customers are served at 7!"... Even though there were other diners still eating, it was7.45. And no choice of menu. No tea/coffee facilities in room ,pity.

- certainly ask for a renovated room ! (big difference) i think 50% of the rooms is not yet renovated - nice spa/sauna facility included in roomprice - optional indoor parking !! - optional massage/wellness - at short walking distance to a lot of nice bars, restaurants, ... great price/quality performance.

I was here last Friday, it was a nice hotel with a good restaurant inside. rooms are complete and clean with enough storage room enough towels and so on. disadvantage is there are some redecoration-works going on inside the hotel, so hallways will be a little dirty from dust from this works. Big advantage is: only 2 minutes walking from... More

After reading recent reviews that were not very complementary I was not looking forward to our stay but would recommend this hotel as long as it is not thought of as any more than a 3 star establishment. We were on a Shearings tour & as such we were treated a little differently to other guests at dinner, as we... More

We had fab time in ostend and hotel was excellent. We were given a very large apartment with kitchen and the food was excellent. I think though that they could have served coffee or tea after evening meal.

On arrival we were ushered straight into the restaurant with hand luggage and anything else carried on the coach (it was a Shearing's break) and no time to wash after a long journey. Our luggage was supposed to be in our room by the time we finished dinner but wasn't. The food was shockingly bad and even though we were... More
