I travelled to Ostend for a Beer Festival trip last Friday (17th Oct 2008) with my Grandmother and friend. We travelled from Swansea to stay at what is now know as Albert II hotel (previously George V) for two nights. The hotel bar and breakfast area was quite nice, looked as though it has been recently refurbished, however the rooms... more

Went on an all inclusive package with leger to this hotel. There was no room at the Royal Astor, this was supposed to be a suitable alternative. First impressions are grim - you walk into the 'foyer' which is lit red lights - you think its a brothel! So up to reception - the lift or 4 flights of stairs.... more

We have just returned from a very disappointing holiday we stayed at the GRAND GEORGE V Hotel in Ostende. It was far from grand. The hotel was described by the Travel Agent as having been fully refurbished and a Quality Hotel this is not the case. more

We had the hotel selected as part of a fixed Easter coach package through a travel agent. Past relatives have done similar packages and had been very impressed with the standard of accommodation included, so with this in mind whilst booking I didn't look into particular hotel details. The hotel gives a positive impression when looking at the street front,... more

very tired hotel needs lots of work but it was ok there was nothing wrong with the heating the rooms were nice and warm.1 big issue was on day of departure the breakfasts were nearly non existant we think the early risers must have eaten it all and the staff were reluctant to re stock the bacon ,eggs and bread more

Having read the reviews on this hotel I was very nervous about what to expect. Basically you get what you pay for. On the plus side the rooms were clean and the bathroom facilities were very good, the rooms were cleaned daily. However, don't stay here if you want a decent nights sleep as the hotel is on a main... more

Having read some of the less favourable reviews here and elsewhere I was very apprehensive during our trip to Ostend for the xmas markets. I travelled with a party of 24 from work and was pleasantly surprised with our rooms in the hotel. We were on the 3rd floor [Rm 311]. I believe the 3rd floor had been refurbished and... more
