I have been in the hotel in Winter 2013 for one night. The room I have booked was in recently modernised floor. But as this modernisation was not well done you see on several spots little damages or not fully done paintings/renovations.The room itself and the bathroom was clean, no need to complain. But the bed was not very comfortable.... More

Regardless of whether this hotel is 'basic' and the rooms appeared clean, the general state of the stairwells and the constant smell of egg drifting down the corridors, the freezing room when we arrived and the lack of mirrors, a broken extractor fan whcih meant the one mirror we did have was constantly 'fogged' up, it really was an unpleasant... I recently stayed at the hotel with a xmas bus trip, arrival was chaotic with everyone trying to book in, only a small lift to cope with a bus load of people! Went to our room via the staircase which was dirty and needed a good clean, arrived at room 221 which looked spacious and bathroom looked ok with first... More

We stayed here with Goldcrest on a Christmas Market trip. The hotel is a 2star and is therefore basic. Some of the rooms could only be accessed from stairs so not good for people with poor movement. The room was clean and so was the bathroom. Our breakfast was good and there was plenty of it. We had tea and... More

A nice friendly hotel in a perfect location. There is a continental breakfast included in the price and plenty of it. Plenty of shopping nearby and christmas market. Lots of restaurants to choose from although some are a bit pricey. There are cheaper ones by the waterside. Great value.

Recent good reviews have redressed the balance after some bad ones which is very fair.We were staying 4 nights with coach company Goldcrest and were very pleased with the hotel. The room was fine, very clean, a good size, well heated (perhaps a bit too much!) and the bathroom had loads of hot water at all times. The bed was very comfortable... We went to the Albert ll as part of a coach trip, and stayed for 3 nights. We were pleasantly surprised after reading some bad reviews to find it more than acceptable. It is a 2 star hotel, so you don't have great expectations. The lift is very small and I couldn't use it, (but then don't like any lifts)... More

This hotel has had some really bad reviews and I don't know why. It's cheap and cheerful and in the middle of Ostend withing walking distance of loads of bars are restaurants. Our rooms were clean and comfortable with tea and coffee making faciities, a fridge and a safe. The bathroom was a good size with a wonderfully powerful shower. Yes... More

We stayed two nights on a low-budget coach holiday (Gold Crest, also recommended) and didn't have high expectations for the hotel, but were very pleasantly surprised. The room was clean, comfortable and very well designed (though slightly more leg room in the bathroom would have been welcome). The bed was very comfortable. All this only two rooms along the corridor... More

For staying in the heart of Ostend this hotel is ideal and right in the middle of the shops, bars and restaurants. However, the hotel is very cheap and cheerful. Clean, but basic. We also stayed as a group with the GoldCrest company and the hotel was exactly as I'd expected, no frills. However, you are paying 'no frills' prices... More
