A superb location was spoilt by a dirty and dilapidated hotel and poor staff attitude. Junk furniture stored in public areas, a manager who spent more time on his computer and drinking expensive whisky with his Tibetan cleaning staff than caring about guests, room not properly cleaned, everything grubby and messy, breakfast buffet not replenished, tiny rooms and bathrooms, toiletries... Dear Mr Hofhuis, Thank you for your comments. But why did you forget to mention that you did not have a reservation and saw the room before booking it and that you even extended your stay with one extra night. If it was as bad as you make it seem you would not have booked the room for two nights,... More

Perfect location, close to main square on great little street with restaurants, chocolate shops, a great little pharmacy and the Torture Museum. Staff was very helpful and accommodating. We needed parking, the front desk watched our bags and drew us a map to the public parking lot. It is not far, even if we had the luggage. The hotel is... More

Hotel was grubby with dirty windows, filthy cream cloth chair in the bedroom and stained bed frame. Wall paper and been scrapped off the wall grey wall to reveal white underneath. Female member of staff at breakfast was grumpy huffing and puffing because she wanted us to leave even though breakfast was until 10.30am and not 10.00am. We sat at... More

We have had 2 very pleasant nights in this hotel but there were a couple of things that let the hotel down. The shower is just hand held in the bath and there was nothing to hook it up. Made for a very interesting shower. The room got very hot and stuffy during the night. We were able to open... More

Could not have been more central. Good value. One minute walk to the main squares and even less to the canal trips, some great bars and restaurants, but not noisy. The lift was welcome and again the canal view from a pleasant room, although a little tired with some fittings needing attention. Ample cold buffet breakfast in bright airy room... More

we arrived at the hotel around sunset. the hotel from the outside looks lovely. as soon as i saw the main hall/reception looking so old, i had a bad feeling about the room. i was right: staircase looks awful, carpet in the room was stained and old, there was so much dust behind the heaters, also a old cigarette and... Friendly staff. Breakfast was a bit disappointing and the carpets in the breakfast room were old and very dirty. The large breakfast room overlooking the canal was only used in the morning for breakfasts. The restaurant and bar were in a different location (..this used to be two hotels!..) from which there was no view of the canal, which was... More

If you can't afford a canal view room here, don't bother. Actually, even with a canal view, this hotel has very little to offer. It's in a superb position looking over the canal right in the middle of Bruges. The dining room has really lovely views but, sadly, after breakfast the room is closed off and not re-opened until breakfast... More

Views from our bedroom and the breakfast room were great but the problem was that we had asked for an upstairs room and we were given a downstairs room instead. We were given no apologybut told by a chap (who had pretensions of being Basil Faulty) that upstairs rooms were not guaranteed and basically we had to lump it despite... More

Dear Peter K, Thank you for your time to write the review. I am sorry to hear that your stay was not entirely positive. By the time you booked, the upper story rooms were already booked. So unfortunately we were not able to honour that special guest request. But we do need to intervene when you deem it necessary to... More
