We stayed in a room at the back of the hostel – away from the common areas and front street where the drunken people can tend to disturb. Our room was perfect – just what we needed. Basic and small to be sure but with free and easy wifi and our own bathroom – mind you the door between the... more

My wife and I stayed in a Double Private room which had a small table, private bathroom and sink with mirror. The room was a bit small but exactly what you'd expected for the price. They have a small common area with two work stations, a Movie room and a great place to sit and drink GOOD cheap beer. The... more

Lovely city, great location, staff not too bad but to come home unable to work as I'm covered from head to toe in unsightly itchy bites and to have to pay a large doctors bill ruined my hoilday. more

This is my second time staying at the Lybeer in Brugge. I stayed last year (Nov 2008) and had a great time. The staff is what brought me back. This trip I stayed in a Single Private room approx 35Euro/night. Had my own bed, table, closet and sink w/ mirror. All in all the room was just fine. It wasn't... more

I was one of 7 blokes staying for a drinking weekend. We had a four person, a two person and a one person room. My room had two of us sleeping, the top bunk of the room wasn't used! The shower worked fine, although some complained the temp changed as others obviously switched their showers on and off. Clean, old... more

I had read reviews saying the hostel is great, but the showers suck, and I didn't think they could be that bad (some people seemed to have found them ok) but they really were the worse showers I've ever experienced. First the water is freezing, then it gets scalding hot for about a minute, then goes back to freezing for... more

I've stayed at this hostel 3 times now, can't really do better for location and price in Brugge. The staff are extremely helpful and the breakfast which is included is something a little more than plain cornflakes. The private rooms are OK, but the bathrooms are few and far between and can be pretty weak. All and all, beats forking... more

Terrible hostel. No hot water, really really dated inside. Bed even broke on one of the beds. Rough part of an otherwise sleepy town also. 5 people in the hostel got attacked on the Friday night. Go anywhere but here more

I chose the Lybeer Hostel for its central location and as a result of reading a number of positive reviews on this site, but I'm afraid to say it was a major disappointment. I booked a single room and it was given a room right next to the stairs on the first floor. The walls were paper thin so I... more

Good points: The location is fabulous, smack bang in the middle of it all. The staff are fantastic and can't do enough to help you. There are organised activities every night which is helpful for meeting people and it's quiet. The showers are clean. Breakfast is included with a decent selection. There is a phone and internet is free and... more
