The hotel is located close to the train station and extremely close to the bell tower and market square. There are numerous shops, cafes and pubs nearby, all in walking distance. The only problem is that some of the rooms don't have attached bathrooms, so make sure you know what you are booking. It is a budget hotel, so the... more
A group of 6 of us booked in here for the Easter Weekend. Rates were really very reasonable and as I am more used to 4/5* hotels i was a little worried about staying in a 2* Guesthouse. This completely disapeared as soon as we arrived. The owner is lovely - helpful and chatty. Our rooms all varied in size... more
The hotel is very well situated at just 5 minutes walking distance form the Bell tower and the "Markt square". It allowed us to explore Bruges entirely on foot. It was also easy to find from the train station, as the bus from the station stops at Markt square. The rooms were small, but still comfortable and adequate space in... more
We (three couples from Pennsylvania) had a wonderful time in Brugge, including our two nights at Hotel Van Eyck. The location is great--tucked away on a side street, yet close to everything. Brugge has the best beer and mussels! Wish we could've stayed longer. Mireille is a lovely hostess, she even packed us a breakfast when we had to leave... more
It's all rather grand in an "olden days" type of way, what with the spiral staircase (that has clearly seen better days) and the manageress (who silently presides over the breakfast in the dining room). There is a very strong personal touch to everything they do, and it's nice, even though could perhaps be slightly annoying during longer stays -... more
Stayed for one night as planned. Good value for Bruges. Nice individual hotel, made a nice change from identical chain hotels. Room very comfortable although very small and basic. Great breakfast in a nice room. Good location to walk to all main attractions. Car park close by. Service from the lady manager was fantastic. Would stay again. more
We stayed here for 3 nites in June of 08 and booked through booking.com for 70 euros per nite. Hotel Van Eyck was exactly as we expected it to be. Although the hotel is one a quiet street, it is only a block or two to the central square of the city. It is also only about 40 yards to... more
We were a group from Spain staying at the Hotel Van Eyck, and the experience was very positive. The custumer service was great. The lady at front desk was totally helpful, and the fact that she was fluent in english, spanish, french... and several other languages was much apreciated for all the members of the group. The accomodation was really... more
The van Eyck is in a quiet side street right in the centre of town. It is an old town house with a beautiful spiral staircase and grand living room where breakfast is served. It is family-run by pleasant & helpful people. Our room was on the top floor and was basic but clean. The heating only came on at... more
