Recently taken over by the current friendly and helpful owners. In a quiet area but also very central - very easy walking distance to attractions. Beautifully recently renovated downstairs. Bedrooms in need to a bit of TLC but refurb is ongoing apparently. Full of character and reasonably priced - would definitely stay there again.

This was a lovely little hotel to stay in, less than 5 minutes stroll to the main square. Gorgeous old building with some modern additions, we had a spacious clean room and a comfy bed. Breakfast was fantastic with a huge range to choose from to set you up for the day starting with fresh fruit and very freshly squeezed... More

The location is fantastic, the service very hospitable, and the breakfast was excellent. The rooms are comfortable and basic, nothing fancy. It felt a bit steep for 125 a night, but the central location and breakfast mostly made up for that. We stayed on the second floor so had to lug up our suitcases a few flights but it wasn't... More

We were greater by a lovely young lady who was cheerful and informative Nice room with a great bathroom. The breakfast was awesome. There is a beautiful church you can walk I to and look around at the gorgeous windows and art. Convenient walk to the town and bell tower etc. I would stay here again.

We were welcomed like family, and our golden retriever was the centre of attention. Room comfy and all in working order. The 2 high points were beyond expectations: 1. Breakfast, never had better in 25 years of visiting Bruges. Fresh fruit and juice (and I mean properly fresh and made in house) 2. Cellar bar, weekends only. Beautiful and one... More

This hotel fits Brugge so well - it is beautiful, carefully restored, has amazing ceilings and design and the new owners are lovely people. Yes, there are stairs - be prepared for that - but we got a room on the first floor - so it was fine. The owners just remodeled their kitchen in the two days we have... More

Bruges is a charming city, and Hotel Karel de Stoute captures that charm so well! The owners were very gracious hosts, and are truly concerned with their guests' experience and stay. Rooms were very clean and spacious, and even though the stairs are narrow, they are manageable. Breakfast was well prepared and fresh, with plenty of options. The location is... More

This hotel is an old home which has been restored into a boutique hotel. We paid a little more for a "superior" room on the second floor to avoid hauling our bags up so many steps. There is no lift. The room was large, decorated in period furniture and the bath was large as well. Our room faced the street... More

We had a superior room and the room was very spacious, being in a medieval quaint town we were expecting it to be smaller. The owners who had only been in charge for 3 weeks did themselves proud. Very polite and any questions we had they were happy to help. Breakfast was amazing fresh breads, bakery products and cereals and... More

We stayed here in 2014. Very nice place. The hostess and her assistant were very polite and hospitable. The hotel itself is beautiful, the room was comfortable, it had everything we needed. Breakfast is standard, but organized as a breakfast at home. Pleased with fruit salad, which were treated kazhoe morning. Value for money - good quality. Excellent location, very... More
