Die Swaene is a lovely hotel in the hart of Bruges. Staff is friendly. And yes: the breakfast is great. BUT: in our view the price they are charging is entirely not in line with the quality of the room (bathroom and toilet are not what you expect in a **** hotel, small tv set, no airco - they put... more

We staid for 1 night in a superior luxury apartment which is located across the canal from the hotel reception. We got a very good deal because we booked midweek, at a quiet season, last minute (same day), and the sauna/fitness center was closed for repairs so the owners gave us a good deal on the room. We booked directly... more

Lieven and his staff were all excellent. They gave us a very warm welcome and made us feel extremely comfortable. They were very proud of their hotel and with good reason. Our canal view room on the first floor was delightfully decorated, very clean and spacious. The hotel is in the perfect location being a very short walk to almost... more

The photos on the website are a bit exaggerating the luxury of this hotel. But all in all the atmosphere of the town, the location of the building and the friendly staff make this place attractive. Don't expect too much and you'll enjoy it! more

We stayed at the Die Swanne over the May bank holiday weekend. We were greeted by a less than friendly staff member, who treated us as a bit of an inconvenience when we asked any questions, but thankfully the rest of the staff were helpful and friendly. The room was fine, but the worst bit was that the staff just... more

We stayed in this little family hotel for 3 nights and were really impressed. Our room was lovely, the service was outstanding and the restaurant with its wonderful terrace served delicious food. The restaurant has a good ambiance to it. Definately go back when we pass through Belgium. more

We chose this hotel as a member of the Small Luxury Hotels Group for our last night on the Continent, but it certainly did not live up to expectations. The "superior" room we were given was very poor.In particular, the bathroom was awful, broken tiles, dirty grouting, loose bath plug etc. When we complained,we were given the classic excuse "the chambermaid hadn't reported any faults" We... more

Hotel Die Swaene had been recommended to us by friends and how happy we are we followed their advice. We stayed in a junior suite, # 50, on the top floor and simply loved it. Wonderful view over the rooftops and the canal, very quiet and the room was nicely decorated and extremely comfortable with a separate bathroom and shower... more

My husband and I spent one night at this very discreet hotel in Brugges. True to all the other reviews, the staff were very friendly and helpful. We were given room n°76 which is the red room shown in the photographs on the websites. It is situated in the "Period " wing of the hotel. The room was a bit... more
