As long as you can manage stairs, this hotel is in a great location. Ask for a room on the first floor, these overlook the canal and are lovely. The hotel's continental breakfast offers lots of choice in the restaurant overlooking two canals. All the staff were helpful and friendly and although the decor and fittings could do with an... It's hard to begin describing the stay we had. What a beautiful hotel in such a romantic place, and so close to everything. Sometimes we just stared out the window the view was so lovely. The hotel operators were lovely, and prepared a beautiful breakfast in the restaurant for us in the morning. The rooms are older but charming, and... More

We have now stayed in this hotel twice with friends so have experienced 4 different rooms. Our first stay we had rooms on the first floor which were fabulous ( 2 & 5 think) with 1 overlooking the canal and the other the square. On our most recent visit we had rooms on the 2nd floor. Although nice rooms they... More

As people have mentioned, this hotel has a "faded elegance", verging on run down in places. On the other hand, the location is perfect, the people working there are very helpful, and it's nice to be in such an old, classic place even if it is showing its age. The bathroom was large and modern but the shower had some... More

This was no doubt once a magnificent hotel, but now is tired and run down. The location is perfect, but that's about all that is. Four lights in our room were not working; the carpet on the stairs is faded, worn and lifting at the edges; the room needed a facelift, as did the public areas; the WiFi was intermittent,... More

This is a cozy, old, charming hotel. With a pricy, "special occasion" restaurant menu. There is no elevator, so plan on carrying your bags up at least one or two flights of stairs. The wifi is only in the lobby and not at all in the breakfast area of the restaurant. Evidently dogs are welcome in the restaurant (not to... More

Friendly hotel with helpful staff Incredible location and fine dinning. It should get, I believe, a small refurbishing in the rooms and a more powerful Wi Fi . small improvements can lead to a really cozy place in Brugges

Booked rest due to beautiful location on canal. Lovely decor but lacks atmosphere. V old Tom Jones songs in background! When we sat down my friend asked for some tap water, the waiter looked at us like we were mad and informed is they didn't have any, we sort of chuckled and pointed out everyone had tap water, he bluntly... We stayed here on Saturday 20th September and when we turned up and saw the hotel we were amazed that it was where we were staying! It is the most photographed hotel in Brugge and is in the centre on the canal. I only needed one night here as I had already booked a barge hotel for the Sunday. I... More

From the perfect location to our romantic and spacious canal view-room (#5) we adored this hotel. All staff were eager to assist and very friendly. The dining room was lovely and the view was phenomenal! Bruges was an absolute fairy tale, and we were very pleased with our accommodations. Older carpet and bathrooms didn't bother us at all. We will... More
