We stayed one night in this hotel as part of a mini cruise from Hull. It was perfect! We arrived well before check-in time (about 10.30am) & asked if we could leave our luggage there; we were informed that our room was ready! And what a fab room! 2nd floor rear with a wonderful view of the rooftops of Bruges,... More

Good position, near to bars and historical sites. Good 3 star hotel not 4 star. Room at the back of hotel was quiet but no view to speak of.Staff were very friendly and helpful, breakfast buffet was worth the 15 euros when booked in advance. Travelled by ferry from Hull then bus to brugges, frombus drop off it is a... More

Went to Bruges with Superbreak, checked in by very courteous staff, and shown to our beautiful room with balcony windows overlooking the square, spacious bathroom with all amenities (bath, shower etc). Only trace of any strange smell obviously coming from local canals, (What do people expect in the height of Summer?) A wonderful hotel which we would definitely visit again.... More

We went to bruge to celebrate my 30th birthday. The hotel is located on a perfect spot, only a few minutes walk from the market place. The hotel reception area and social areas were to very high standard; the bedroom, on the other hand was very basic and at a lower standard needed a face lift. The double bed was... More

Very comfortable top floor room with amazing views over the city......great en-suite bathroom. Smart hotel, friendly, helpful staff. Classy reception area and relaxing lounge area on first floor which leads out onto a garden roof terrace. Lovely breakfast room if you choose to use it. Hotel is in a perfect location to walk everywhere and take in the wonderful sights... More

All good at Hotel Portinari. Clean hotel, friendly staff, nice room, easy check-in. A 'junior suite' was ideal as a family room - 2 adults, 2 children. Zand is a good part of town to stay in. Short walk to centre and the right side of town for the train station. Moreover, there is an underground car park under Zand... More

The worst hotel we've ever been. Dirty, disgusting carpet throughout the hotel, unbearable smell in the elevator, shower was not working properly, shower curtain hanging halfway down, hair dryer broken. No receptionist at 10:30 pm but a lady with messy hair, wearing sweatpants and not in a good mood. Not a 4star hotel for sure. We were offered an expensive... More

Easy check-in. Perfect room for three- they had already set up the cot for our son. Not the newest hotel but modernized (which is a big deal in Europe) with all amenities we needed (good TV, nice linens, decent bed and shower). Didn't get the sewage smell at all that others posted about- a non-issue. Super clean (passed my OCD... More

Amazed at some of the negative comments which we don't understand. Sure, not the cheapest hotel but what else would you expect in a tourist hot spot, very close to the main attractions and right next to the undercover car park. This was a very fair price for the location. I saw adverse comments about Stéphane, the General Manager, but... More

It's spotlessly clean and the bed is comfortable, but the room and especially bathroom are tiny---not what I would expect for this price. The WiFi signal in the room was weak (it was fine in the lobby), and there were not enough electric outlets---I only found one outlet in the room, and none next to the bed. The staff are... More
