We stayed two nights at this very attractive small hotel in the center of Bruges close to the Market , Burg, restaurants and shopping. The staff are very pleasant and helpful and we enjoyed every moment.

What a beautiful, luxurious little hotel. We decided to splash out and spend the last two nights of our honeymoon at this hotel and were definitely not disappointed. We booked a junior suite and were given the prettiest room we have ever stayed in on the same level as the outside terrace alongside the canal. We had a door that... More

We chose this hotel carefully and we have not been disappointed. we wanted charm and authenticity, calm and beauty, it had everything and more. We had the belfry room, right at the top with a first class view of the belfry from all four windows. The room was comfy as well as tasteful, with everything in large amounts from towels,... More

You read the reviews but you never know until you get there!! Well worry not this hotel is truly a little gem. We had the warmest of welcomes, taken up to or quaintly decorated room - very clean and aircon unit - bonus!! The hotel is very old and exudes charm - the lounge and dining area are well laid... Stayed one night over a weekend and was really impressed with this little, luxurious hotel. Beautiful setting, lovely location on the river, very comfortable room and staff very helpful. We enjoyed a drink on the terrace when we first arrived and saw other guests enjoying delicious looking afternoon tea with scones, cakes and sandwiches which looked amazing. Breakfast was terrific... This beautiful hotel is unique in that it retains so many original features and furnishings. It is like an oasis coming through the front door to be greeted by the friendly staff. The reception area is dreamy making you feel that you should be walking through the door 200 years ago. Although Initially I thought the breakfast was extremely expensive,... More

We stayed 1 night in The Orangerie where we experienced a warm welcome by their staff. The building has a unique and authentic atmosphere, while the service level is really more than up to date and meeting all present standards. The breakfast is something to look forward to; fresh fruits, fresh dairy, perfectly boilt eggs, as much espresso or cappucino... More

Cheekily popped in to escape searing heat and grab something to eat. Just like to say thank you to the wonderful restaurant manageress who provided us with immaculate service and fantastic food and kept her cool at all times, you're a star.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
De Orangerie Hotel is located right on the most picturesque canal of medieval Bruges in the very heart of the city centre. This small XV century monastery of the Sisters Karthuizerinnen has been converted into a wonderful "boutique hotel", furnished with exclusive fabrics (Braquenié, Pierre Frey, Bennison, Ralph Lauren), antiques, and objets d'art. All of the 20 graciously proportioned bedrooms have been individually decorated with antiques, and offer all the modern comfort that the discerning traveller expects. In the elegant lounge along the canal, guests can relax by the open fire, in comfortable sofas while going through the available art books and international magazines, and enjoying a drink which is served round the clock. The winter garden lounge with its views on the “trompe l’oeil” Italian gardens is a haven of rest and tranquillity in fresh white and light-greyish colours. It is recommended to enjoy the typical English “Afternoon Tea” or an aperitif either on the waterfront terrace or in the cozy lounge. ... more   less
