Great location, beautiful old hotel, room was clean, beds comfortable. Nice turn down service with chocolate. They had scheduled a complimentary 2 hour walking tour. That was wonderful! Didn't chose breakfast due to it being pricey-really cute and good restaurants near by (we liked Gingerbread tea house). The dining room was gorgeous though. Car park was quick and no big... More

Room was a delight, although my wife said she needed better light to put on makeup. Great location and lovely afternoon tea. We'll be back. We've already booked for next year. Heidi and Mitee, as usual were perfect hostesses

Initially it was a disappointment that our room didn't have a canal view or any view at all. The hotel was packed due to a holiday weekend and so changing rooms was not an option. It was easy to overcome this due to the quality of the hotel. It is in a great location, on a side street, on a canal... More

Me and my now fiancé (as I proposed during this trip!) had an absolutely wonderful time here at the hotel. Everything was very well presented, clean and the staff were very helpful and very nice. Great, central location too for shopping and restaurants etc. it's a shame we never got to experience the canal trips run from the back of... More

The hotel is beautiful. It's also perfectly located. Not directly on the main street. In walking distance of almost everything in Bruge. The buffet breakfast is delicious..lox, eggs, etc. It's right on the canal. There are a few tables you can sit at outside - you have to go downstairs through a low "tunnel", extremely romantic, to get to the... More

The staff were friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast (champagne included) was one of the best hotel breakfasts I have ever had. The beds are comfortable and the room relaxing and well furnished. The fridge was a little noisy but this was a minor irritation. The hotel itself was quiet and the location superb. This was our... A nice hotel in a good location. I think lots of things in Brugge are slightly overpriced given the tourist nature of the town, so I expect this hotel is 'reasonable' / comparable value for money. Very annoying minibar (which only had 1 item - a €45 (half?)bottle of Champagne) - it made a loud noise all night - so... More

Beautiful Hotel on a canal. We did not stay here but had a wonderful High Tea in the restaurant. The decor is elegant and the staff superb. Can't say enough about the finger sandwiches, scones, chocolate and oh.....the clotted cream and jam. Heavenly!!!

I think this place is living on its past achievements. Housekeeping poor - no fresh soap, skimpy fresh towels; bathtub slow to drain. Room quite stuffy although they mention central air; no in room coffee service and the charge for take out coffee is outrageous.

We are disappointed reading such a review. We do all efforts to give our guests a pleasant stay. We don't change the soap daily, because it's a big piece that can't be used during your stay! It's a pity you didn't mentioned the reception about the slow drain of the bath. We would immediately solve the problem. As we are... More

We went here for champagne afternoon tea for my sister and a friends birthday. It was absolutely exquisite;lovely service, fantastic food-beautifully presented and the hotel itself has such a lovely ambience. Official Description (provided by the hotel)
De Orangerie Hotel is located right on the most picturesque canal of medieval Bruges in the very heart of the city centre. This small XV century monastery of the Sisters Karthuizerinnen has been converted into a wonderful "boutique hotel", furnished with exclusive fabrics (Braquenié, Pierre Frey, Bennison, Ralph Lauren), antiques, and objets d'art. All of the 20 graciously proportioned bedrooms have been individually decorated with antiques, and offer all the modern comfort that the discerning traveller expects. In the elegant lounge along the canal, guests can relax by the open fire, in comfortable sofas while going through the available art books and international magazines, and enjoying a drink which is served round the clock. The winter garden lounge with its views on the “trompe l’oeil” Italian gardens is a haven of rest and tranquillity in fresh white and light-greyish colours. It is recommended to enjoy the typical English “Afternoon Tea” or an aperitif either on the waterfront terrace or in the cozy lounge. ... more   less
