A very helpful and friendly staff, but in all honesty the hotel is rather run down, apart from the bathrooms which have been re-furbished. As soon as you enter the hotel, you smell stale cigarette smoke everywhere. I asked for a non-smoking room, but clearly the room had been occupied by smokers before us. Definitely not a four star hotel.... more

Stayed for one night 30th September 2009. It is in a good location once you can find it with the one-way streets in the town centre. There is limited off street parking at the hotel which should be booked in advance but I think it is worth it.Hotel is a little shabby but is very charming and the staff are very... more

We enjoyed the Hotel Azalea mainly for it's friendly staff, decent included breakfast and it's excellent quiet location, walkable to everywhere. We did notice that the quiet bar sometimes had smokers in it, and being from England and non smokers, did notice the smell throughout the hotel. That would make us look elsewhere another time, but if a bit of... more

We're a couple of 23 year old 'young proffessionals'. We wanted a romantic, interesting city break in a luxury hotel, but at a reasonable price, so we booked in for 3 nights in a superior double room. The hotel is old and creaky but with loads of character; the hallway, bar and dining room are fabulously decorated, though the Brugians... more

What a disappointment. Stayed here on the last night of a euro road trip and saved the worst till last. We got room 16, ground floor, car park view, broken fan, massive hole in wall covered with paper and masking tape........paid over 100E. Theres no doubt that this place was once or could be a great hotel, the staff are... more

After staying the previous night in a four star hotel this was a bit of a shock. We were offered a very small room which was dated and dusty. The bathroom was ok and looked like it had recently been renewed but overall i would say it was a 2 star hotel. Not impressed i'm afraid. However with a refurbishment... more

We couldn't have asked for friendlier, more helpful staff than we had at the Hotel Azalea. They went out of their way to make sure our needs were tended to. The morning desk clerk was very helpful in describing her favorite things to see and do in town. When we asked the breakfast waiter about getting an early morning wakeup... more

Great location in Brugge with attentive, friendly staff. Room was very spacious and clean well appointed bathrooms. Our room faced the street which got a bit noisy the first night but it got better. Breakfast is included-nice healthy options. It is an older building so don't expect glitz--but it was perfect for us. more

This places is not the worst...but in Bruge, pay 10 more Euros and you can do WAYYY better, ie, Cote Cannal and St. Niilass, which we passed in Bruge. I would recommend the B and Bs in Brugge as they are cheaper than hotels and very cute. The location here was too far west near the modern ring road. There... more

Just got back from a four day mini break to Bruges and stayed in the Hotel Azalea. What a very special find, a small family run hotel in the heart of the city yet quiet, charming and prettily placed, overlooking a canal. The rooms are of average size, well equipped and with modern, spotlessly clean bathrooms. I recommend our room,... more
