To be honest, it was a quick booking, but I needed a room on the canal, close to everything and will allow smoking (hubby is a smoker). I read the reviews and most of them didn't recommend this hotel, but I booked it anyway because it was one of the few in Bruges that allowed smoking. Check in was quick... More

The best thing about the hotel it's its location - just by the historical centre, facing a canal, with a little garden in the courtyard. But that would be it. If you arrive to Brugges by train - get a taxi because it is about 40 minutes walking. The standard of the room I got was fine, but in the... More

This hotel is certainly deceiving from the outside. It is such a large hotel with such potential. The decor is a bit dated now and you get the impression that it was once a lively and busy hotel. The rooms are basic but provide a good base if you are busy exploring and just want a room to sleep and... More

Situated only a short walk to main area of the city. No restaurant in the hotel (There was a Japanese one but now closed) however there is a breakfast room. Unusual decoration and décor throughout and the Japanese garden needs some attention. The room we had was a bit tied, but was clean and OK. Great location.

Nice hotel with recently renovated bedrooms (3rd floor @ least) with everything you need including self-controlled air-con, wifi, safe etc. (more sockets for charging phones would be useful!). Breakfast selection not great but perfectly adequate. Hotel bar seems to close early as was in complete darkness when we returned to hotel before mid-night. Location on canal is nice but just... The location is is good, the rooms are a good size and everything seemed clean.Staff were helpful and nice. I found it a bit pricey , but it is probably average for Bruges in its category. My only negative remark would be for the decoration. It wouldn't go as far as saying it is cheesy or 70's or something like... More

Brugge is expensive, so even a mid-level hotel like this is expensive. The location was along a canal, but we didn't have canal view rooms. We actually had one first floor room that faced a street and stone wall (no view, no privacy) and the other was an interior room, so the window looked into the hallway. Had I known... More

10-20 mins walk from the heart of Bruges/ Brugge by a canalside sits this 4* hotel. It is comfortable, peaceful, has rooms appointed as well as you would expect for a 4*. Reception is efficient & helpful. Breakfast is again what you would expect from 4*, a good mix of hot & cold possibilities. We didn't dine here, as there... More

Beware of Staying in Golden Tulip Hotels! After being tripped by a maid vacuum cleaning as she tighted the cord to reach a far distance, and it caught in my shoe between my toes and the sole, I hit the raised panel on the elevator door. The result: a huge hematoma, a ruptured artery in my neck, not being able... More

Stayed here for two nights. Two rooms facing the canals were spacious, if a little dated, but clean and with all the amenities needed. Breakfasts were plentiful with a good choice. The staff are friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable. Parking near to the hotel is easy and a definite plus. The location is handy to either walk into the city... More
