Found this B & B completely randomly when trawling through the internet for a place to stay. My girlfriend and I visited Bruges in July 2011. We stayed in the yellow room which was a great size and had a queen size bed which was great. The only negative was that a curtain was used in the passage that linked... More

We stayed here in July 2011. When we arrived we thought the building looked a bit run down but don't be put off! We stayed in the Yellow room which was a great size with a Queen size bed. The room has its own large bathroom which is the room next door, there is a curtain by this passage instead... More

We (5 people) stayed in the loft over the Easter weekend and were very impressed. From looking at the photos before arriving, it looked great - but from previous bookings for different accommodation we were very aware that a lot of the time the place doesn't match up to the photos. This was definitely not the case at Maison de... More

We just got back from a weekend stay in Bruges. The maison de la rose is a lovely hotel/b&b Hans and his wife were very welcoming and gave us some good advice in what shops/bars to visit and which to avoid. The building is lovely and we felt right at home straight away. We stayed in the blue room and... More

Dear Kitty, Thanks for your review. We have just installed a door between the bath- and bedroom in the blue and grey room, so that privacy is now ensured in every room. Everything has also been repainted this week. We sure look forward to see you back in Bruges :-) Kind regards, An & Hans More

Hans did such a great job taking care of us during our stay in December. We changed our reservation last minute to a larger room, and he took care of it right away. We (3 people total) stayed in the Loft on the top floor and we had so much room all to ourselves. The exposed beams were beautiful and... More

The reception was warm but the accommodation was far from exceptional. No breakfast was served and there are no cafes open in the neighbourhood to provide any breakfast before 10 am, which was unfortunate as my conference started at 9! No discount was offered on the price of the room to account for the absence of the other "B", which... More

Dear Yogadeva, We are a guesthouse. We do serve breakfast but when you booked the room we send a confirmation mail asking if you wanted to have breakfast and you did not respond to this offer. I can ensure you that there are quite a lot of places in Bruges that offer breakfast before 10am, and we would have been... More

Maison de La Rose is a wonderful base in Bruges. The location is perfect as it is very close to the main square (5 minute walk) but just slightly out of the tourist saturated areas. Also, it has great restaurants and bars beside it. The (yellow) room was gorgeous, very tastefully decorated by the owner Hans, who has clearly lovingly... More

A friendly service on email before arriving was followed up by a warm welcome from Hans upon our arrival. A helpful orientation to the apartment and city was made, along with how to contact Hans if we needed anything. A great apartment (steep steps being the only hazard), well equipped in a central location.

We stayed two nights in the Blue Room and the accommodation was lovely. The room was very spacious and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was great. Location is fantastic, within a few minutes walking distance to the market square. We appreciated all of the tips and recommendations that Hans provided (restaurants, pubs & especially where to buy good chocolate!). We... More
