Standard rooms, you couldn't swing a cat. However we were there to just experience Leuven and this was an ideal location, minutes from the main square. Don't get sucked into eating on the square as we did as there are fantastic restaurants in the back streets. Drink prices vary dramatically, there is a cuban opposite the hotel with free wifi... We had a really good overnight stop at the New Damshire whilst driving from England to Germany. We found the hotel really easily. There are a number of pedestrianised roads, one-way streets and blocked off roads in Leuven so you need to plan your route into the hotel beforehand (don't just rely on a sat-nav - look it up on... The Hotel New Demshire is a nice cozy city hotel, close to the square, and many restaurants and pubs in Leuven. The hotel was a bit hard to find, and the taxi driver had problem finding the way. The room we got was very small, but the bathroom had good size. It even had a bathtub. The amenities selection was... More

We spent two weeks at the New Damshire recently visiting family in Leuven. So much to like in terms of location, great breakfast but most importantly, the staff were just so friendly and welcoming. It is three stars in view of bathroom (small but clean) and room facilities (no jug to boil water for tea, coffee) but it is very... More

Close to the city center and in walking distance of the Begijnhof lies this practical hotel. It has everything and anything for a pleasant stay, nothing too fancy though. Good breakfast, nice clean rooms with a good bathroom, airconditioning, tv, it is all there. Surrounded by restaurants the eating options are plenty.

If arriving by train it's quite a walk to the hotel, probably just over a mile, but the centre of Leuven is quite pleasant and I didn't have any problems. The stairs up to the room are quite narrow and my room itself was quite small, but it was clean, comfortable and had toiletries and a hair dryer included. Bed... More

Good hotel at walking distance for the centre of the lovely Leuven city. Rooms are good (get a top story one!) breakfast is excellent and service is great. Nothing to complain AT ALL. NB: if you're by car, make a reservations for the hotel-parking asap. Its not big and there are a lot of people wnating one.

Anyone who thinks this is an OK hotel must have very low expectations for a 3 star hotel. Stifling narrow corridors, humid non airconditioned breakfast space under the stairs, indifferent front staff, beds more like camp beds, ragged edged old towels, old tired bathrooms, noisy air conditioning, a bottle of branded tap water, lowest quality toiletries, mouldy fruit and a... I spend one night in Hotel New Damshire to enjoy Leuven for two days. I choose this hotel because of it's location. It's about 10 minutes walking to the historical center of Leuven (oude markt and groot begrijnhof). The employees are very friendly and helpful. Kudos for them. The hotel itself is basic with small rooms with a bit cheap... More

The staff at the hotel were freindly, knowledgeable of the local area. The breakfast was filling and had a varied choice of food. The hotel was within walking distance of all the local sites. the bar was well priced and had a good choice of local beers and coffees. The rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable. I would...
