My third stay here, so something must be right! This is a charming, if a little basic, hotel which is ideally located for the many attractions of this beautiful old city. Rooms are small, even by modern standards, but equipped with most of the basics (no hair dryer, fan, air con or Tea/Coffee facilities) - everything is clean and tidy.... More

Old, simpel yet clean hotel, friendly staff, centrally localized. With open windows it is very noisy even during nighttime. The beds are fine, the bathroom is basic but okay. The breakfast is good. It is a 10 munite walk to the "markt"

Not posh, not pristine but really loved, old fashioned hotel. The rooms were spotlessly clean and the food was fantastic. Excellent value for money. Free wifi with booking, lovely Internet style cafe. We were very happy with our stay here.

Based on the prime location one would think this would be a great place to stay and it was if you needed to commute by train. However, the hotel itself left a lot to be desired. There was a foul odour through much of the hotel like there was a sewerage problem. The rooms themselves were similar to staying in... More

Small but very cozy and very clean. My room overlooked the square at where the Leuven Train Station is located. The room was not large but very convenient. Very strong wifi access (free) in the room (3rd floor). Breakfast was fine. Leuven city centre and main attractions, 10 minutes walk. Only con : Lack of fridge and pretty small closet.

This hotel is right near the train station - so incredibly convenient. There is staff available 24 hours. The area is safe and only a 10-15 minute walk to the city center. I had a nice view and it was a quiet locatin for sleeping at night. The hotel was very clean and well-kept. The breakfast was good. Overall I'm... More

All and all, its a reasonable hotel. The location is Super. Just opposite to the train station, right in the heart of Leuven- restaurants, shops, coffee shops, etc..A few things that could have made the stay in La royale much better: 1. Minibar/ small Fridge in the room- it's quite a standard.. i wanted to buy cheese/Yogurt/cold drink.. but couldn't... More

just in front of the main bus stop and railway station. close to the historical center, walking 10 min or direct bus lines. Surrounding is very busy by shops, bars, busses, deliveries and road traffic. not for somebody looking for a quiet place. parking and access by car is a bit difficult. hotel is clean, breakfast ok, small bar and... My partner was booked into this hotel for a work trip, and I tagged along. The room was very basic, with no space for any comforts such as an easy chair. There was no residents' lounge or seating area, other than the breakfast room (tables and dining chairs only). The bathroom fittings were old but it was clean. The position... More

When visiting Belgium, you come mainly for chocolates and beer. Throw in thousands of college students and a rich history, and you have Leuven. The La Royale is strategically located right across the street from the main train station, which makes day trips around the country very convenient. It’s also a nice 15 minute walk to the historic Oude Markt... More
