We visited Ghent from Oct. 3rd – 6th. This B&B is very well situated in the city centre, about 300 mtrs. from the St. Baafs Cathedral, the “Reep” parking (don’t try to find the B&B by car, because of the many one-way streets you will probably not succeed) and the Groentemarkt” as well. The B&B is about 250 years old,... more

There's not much to add to the other positive reviews below. We picked this B&B on the basis of those descriptions and were not disappointed. The B&B is lovely, contemporary but with an individual, cosy feel. The rooms were very clean and comfortable, the breakfast, with a selection of fresh bread and rolls, cheeses and fresh fruit, was tasty and... more

We were very happy we could stay in this B&B in Gent booking just the evening before. At first the B&B was full, but the owner was so kind to call us back because of a cancellation. The entrance to the old house is via a key code which was convenient because the owner was not present. The room was... more

Very pleased that I chose this B&B. The house is charming, Marc the owner has done a great renovation job and chosen lovely salvaged pieces of furniture. We stayed in the upstairs spacious room which was very calm and comfortable. The bathroom open to the room is behind a wall behind the bed, which was fine with us. We also... more

We booked the retro room in B&B Alphabed after reading some very good reviews on Trip Advisor. We weren’t disappointed. The B&B is spotlessly clean, the host Marc is very nice, humoristic and welcoming. The atmosphere is just right: don't expect an ordinary hotel room, all three rooms are contemporary and a nice mixture of modern an old elements. Marc... more

After reading such positive reviews, I was a little surprised by our experience at Alphabed. We called about 30 minutes before our arrival to get the door code. Marc, the owner, gave us the code and said he'd be there when we arrived. So we were surprised to arrive and be told that one room wasn't ready (we'd reserved two).... more

We had one night in Ghent and based on the reviews here we chanced the Alphabed B&B. We weren't disappointed. On arrival there was no-one there but a note instructed us to call the owner, which we did, and as he was at work in Brussels he gave us instructions on how to let ourselves in and told us to... more

We stayed in Alphabed for three nights and it was the best place you could imagine. Clean, modern, tastefully decorated and close to the market and other main sights. Breakfast was nice and well-balanced, with a little fruit bowl to start with, followed by eggs, dry-cured ham, good quality cheese, fresh rolls and croissants. Compared to other Belgian B&Bs and... more

I stayed 5 nights at this brand new B&B in Ghent and was very pleased. Ghent is the perfect place from which to explore Flanders; a charming, compact town that isn't overrun with tourism, it lies in the center of everything else you'd want to see, all of which can be easily reached by train. From here, I made day... more
