The hotel is fine but the southern European gentleman on the front-desk couldn't find my reservation despite me spelling out my name several times, and then after 10 mins, a call to the office, and finding the booking details, there was no apology seemed but a Fawlty Towers-like exchange where he blamed me for for mispronouncing my own name (despite... more

We were part of a large group staying at hotel for the International Baton Championships. We had a large bedroom with side room with balcony on the top floor. Beautiful view of the local churches and a little square. In spite of being with large group using a lot of rooms we felt like family the whole time. All of... more

Had a suite, bed was firm, room large, loved the shower, and had big windows that opened onto the old town, close to a grocery store also. more

If you are on a sightseeing visit to Gent, this could be just the place you need. Central, within walking distance of all the main sights, canals and surrounded by plenty of bars and restaurants. Our room overlooked the pool and courtyard was a good size and spotlessly clean. We did not eat dinner in the restaurant but had breakfast... more

Dirty and Dated is how I describe this hotel. Rooms are very small , filthy and inconveinent. It is in a prime location in the Centrum area but very noisy. Church bells and pedestrians make it impossible to sleep night and day. The staff was a bit indifferent and unknowledgeable. I felt lied to a few times, and as if... more

Let's face it, you know what you are going to get from a Novotel. If you have seen one Novotel room then you have probably seen them all. The best thing about this hotel is the location. It's close enough to everything yet at the same time in a quiet location on the corner of the square. Breakfast is fab... more

We had a lower price for a standard room since we went there in march and it is not the high season (93€). We did not take the breakfast as we found it too expensive compared to what you can found around the center. Conclusion: Nice hotel, very clean, large rooms and perfectly situated in the center. more

This was my first trip to Ghent and I recommend it as a brilliant option if you are doing a quick wine run to France but dont want to stay in the mostly boring and rubbish northern french towns and Cities, its just 1 1/4 hours at 130km/h from Calais. THe belgians are a nice helpful friendly bunch by and... more

We had a great stay at the Novotel. 9 of us were staying here to celebrate a family birthday and it was our first hotel stay with our 10 month old daughter. The hotel staff could not have been more helpful for us and were very friendly. We ate in the hotel restaurant one evening and although a bit expensive... more
