Nice suite, large, in the center of the town facing "Het Gravensteen". Friendly hosts, good breakfast. There will be always better but it will be hard to find.

We stayed at De Waterzooi on April 2nd and 3rd, having arrived by train & Eurostar via Brussels. The city itself is beautiful but much less of a tourist trap than Bruges. De Waterzooi is central, with the number 1 tram stop outside. It is a short walk to everything of interest, not least the vibrant Graslei where there are...

Kay and Christian are wonderful hosts who have lovingly restored and converted de Waterzooi into the most exquisite accommodation.
Tram 1 takes you straight from Gent St Pieters station and drops you in St Veerleplein, just steps from de Waterzooi. Kay gave us the most generous welcome and, over a cup of tea (along with petit fours and chocolates!), gave...

We booked our stay at De Waterzooi based on two things - 1) its location across from the castle and 2) the positive reviews here on Tripadvisor. Thank you, fellow travelers and those who have taken the time to share your reviews on sites such as this - you didn't steer us wrong! My husband and I celebrated our 15th...

Stayed two nights during Thanksgiving 2011. Checked in Sunday afternoon and out on Tuesday late-morning. This was part of a Ghent-Rouen-Paris trip.
Our direct flight from Houston to Paris was delayed three hours; as a result, we missed our train from Paris to Ghent and had to reschedule to arrive in Ghent four hours later than we originally told the...

It really has all been said before but this is a fantastic place to stay. Amazing attention to detail and everything is of a very high standard. The restaurants and pubs in the square are brilliant and everything is in easy walking distance. I would definitely stay here again.
Amazing 3 night stay. De Waterzoi is a beautiful old building that has been lovingly designed and styled by its wonderful owners/hosts, Kay and Christian. Everything about it was perfect. It was so stylish and modern, spotlessly clean and warm and cosy. Our suite (the Felix) was stunning; just the place for our joint birthday/wedding anniversary celebration. The view of...

Lovely situated opposite the castle. The Waterzooi is luxurious and you feel really pampered when you're there. Breakfasts are excellent, beds are extremely comfortable, big-screen TV, your own balcony (with lovely views!)....basically everything you look for in a B&B. Bonus: warm, welcoming and superfriendly hosts! We'll go again this year...looking forward to it!
Probably, everything that can be said has already been said about the wonderful accomodation and hospitality at the Waterzooi B & B. It is like an apartment rather than a bedroom with all the facilities anyone can need. Hosts Kay and Christian were marvelous and the breakfasts superb. We cannot recommend this B & B too highly and would not...

We stayed for 7 nights...Lucky us!! Found De Waterzooi on theTripadvisor site, and even before we arrived, Christian was helping is with every detail you could imagine, via e-mail. On arrival, we were greeted warmly by Kay and Christian, had a sit-down ( in the gorgeous breakfast room) with a cool drink and cookies, an overview of services, and then...
