Our stay in this hotel was our splurge on our trip. The room did not disappoint: lovely stone and wood, a large shower with private garden view, a comfortable sitting area. My mother-in-law also really enjoyed an in-room massage from Marjorie, an incredibly skilled and intuitive masseuse that I would recommend to anyone. The only downside of our stay was... More

Traveling as a couple to try and see as much of Costa Rica as we could in 10 days, the first 5 days of our holiday was spent at this location, and they could not have been any better under the circumstances, staff are brilliant and their knowledge of local and surrounding areas are superb, (Willberth in particular helped a... Such an amazing place! Staff are wonderful, location is beyond beautiful, meals were some of the best, rooms were top notch. Our group of two couples arrived to find upgrades in our rooms and such warmth and caring from the staff that we could have stayed much longer. A little piece of paradise for sure!!!!!

One of the best locations for a place to stay. Sitting on the side of a hill, over looking the Poas Volcano , all in the midst of lush, green vegetation is as close to perfect as it can be! However, if you do not wish toeat at the place's restaurant, there are not many alternatives around. The place itself... More

We arrived late at the Poas Volcano Lodge. The staff was extremely nice and scrounged up some dinner for us even though the kitchen was closed. Each room is decorated differently so it felt as if you were staying with a distant relative. The cottage rooms not in the lodge are especially quaint. One of my children had an outside... More

This privately owned family Lodge still feels like the English family home it was originally built to be. It is located quite near the airport so we stayed here at the beginning and end of our 2 week trip round Costa Rica over Christmas. The whole property is set on the continental divide 6000ft up in the cloud forest (with... More

We spent the first couple of nights of our honeymoon at the Lodge, which was a perfect way to start our trip. It's hard to believe it's so convenient for that airport when you consider how beautiful and rural it is. Willbeth was a fantastic tour guide and went out of his way to make our day enjoyable.

Visited Poas volcano lodge in Dec 2015. Great little lodge, very clean, very cozy, and room was very nice (stayed at the volcano view room). Breakfast and dinner were very good. Only negative was the lady at the front desk seemed bothered by us whenever we tried to ask her something therefore felt a bit hessitent in asking her questions... More

Chose this hotel rather than stay in San Jose on arrival. The main building used to be a family home and is gorgeous - full of antiques, rugs, interesting books, comfortable sofas, a library and cosy in the evenings with log burners and candles. The food in the restaurant is very good and chosen wines too. If we stayed again... More
