First and foremost, I had a really difficult time finding this place!! I wrote down the directions, according to the website, but they were completely wrong. After a few subway rides back and forth, a tearful plea for help from a subway attendant and a painfully frustrating beg for assistance from strangers on the street I found the place, tucked... more
a little weird but nice place. They make you wait untill 3 p.m. to check in. Check out is at 12 a.m. Prepare yourself for meeting people from all over the globe. I stayed for three days and met people from Canada, US, Germany, Italy, Lithuania, Romania, Ukraine, Russia, Hungary, France, UK, Mexico. Rooms are pretty spacious and not too... more
We stayed here for two nights and found it to be a well run hostel and a good value. Positives: The 4 bed room we stayed in was clean and the bathroom was so-so but clean and functioning. Very fair for the cheap room rates. The bar was great for socializing and meeting other residents. Beers were very fairly priced... more

My friend suggest the Jacques Brel youth hostel and at first i was reluctant to stay in a hostel cause when i travel abroad i also go to hotels. But i can assure you that apart from being quite cheap, our room... more
Just a month before, I got to know that I had an interview in Brussels - with the few money I had available it was impossible to go for an interview in Brussels and stay in a hotel so I looked for a youth hostel. Gave a look to all the youth hostels in Brussels and thought maybe Jacque Brel... more
The hostels that were more central were booked so we went to Jacques Brel. Got an en-suite room for 2. It's maybe 15 min. walking distance to central Brussels. Very clean and bright large room. Bathroom had a sewer smell so we had to keep door tightly closed. The included breakfast was substancial and good. We are not hostel members... more
