I actually stayed here last July (2005) but stay in many Brussels hotels and have passed by recently and nothing looks changed. The location of the Aris cannot be beat. It is near the Grand Place, which should be a focus of any visit. It is near the Central Station so easy to get to (downhill on the way to the hotel). The rooms are fine, the breakfast is good.
Here are the buts...I am thinking of them as summer approaches and I have booked another hotel for my upcoming trip.
1) Last year I booked by visiting the hotel several months ahead of my planned summer stay. I got there and my reservation, at 85 Euros, was all in fine shape. When I went for a stroll and came back from a different direction, there was a sign in the window saying the rate was 75 Euros. I asked for this rate and they would not change my rate, telling me I was already well below the 'normal' price of about 200 Euros. Give me a break.
