Our tour group stayed here 3 nights in Sept 2008. Our 3rd floor room, as well as others on the floor, had just been renovated. New paint, furniture, even new flooring. Could still smell the "newness". Room very clean, comfortable, quiet, and large. Only one drawback. The bath tub sides are HIGH. Almost double the normal height. Not easy to... more

I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights when in Brussels on business. The hotel is located about 10 minutes' walk from Central Station, in an area with many interesting shops and quite a few restaurants, which unfortunately I had no time to explore. I was given a "true" single room - which no longer exist in many hotels! This... more

This is a really excellent hotel, right on the Place du Grand Sablon, very central for the touristy bits but not so central that it's crawling with other tourists. Quiet at night. There are lots of nice restaurants very nearby and some chic antique and chocolate shops. The hotel staff are very helpful - they are in the process of... more

We booked this place through expedia and got a great deal. During our stay we enjoyed ourselves immensley. The rooms could be better, but they are certainly not bad. We found the staff to be helpful and polite and the location of the hotel is excellent. We did not eat at the hotel, but there is a plethora of excellent... more

Location of this hotel is great. Right in the walking center of town, but this comes with it's disadvantages as well. Parking is not as convenient so if you have a rental car, beware--getting into downtown Brussels and then getting parking is tough. Rooms are decent, but don't expect an iron (they say it's a security hazard!). But where this... more

Hotel looked nice coming in, staff at desk very friendly and helpful. Room small with ugly bathroom but air conditioning worked well but there was no hot water in the shower in the morning Service was very slow. We sat in the bar area in the lobby to order a snack, we waited for 10-15 minutes and noone came, noone... more

Stayed in this hotel in June 07. Newly merged to NH hotel. Good location, no more than 10 min from Grand Place and in front of open place where there are open cafes around. Impressive lobby, but not well mannered receptionist. Especially one of them just kept swearing because she did not know how to check in from the site... more

For Brussels, this hotel is better than average and thus deserves **** by tripadvisor standards. As has been said many times, there is good and bad here. Good are the location, the style, the furniture (outdated/jaded is one way to say it; I would say non-standard traditional local), the location (real good part of town, excellent shops and restaurants on... more

The Hotel du Grand Sablon is somewhat expensive, but very comfortable with large rooms. Its located in a pleasant, quiet neighborhood full of antique shops with several good restaurants right on the square du Grand Sablon. The location is very convenient - both the central railway station and the Grand Plac are just a 10 minute walk away. more

Hi. I worked in Brussles for 3 years and so I have seen quite a lot of the hotels in the city. I went back to Brussels for a break last year and visited this hotel in Grand Sablon for the first time and was amazed. It's a beautiful gem. We got upgraded for free and without asking. The suite... more
