Please do not stay at this "hotel". First off, the location is shady. If you are female, do not walk through this area alone. The hotel itself is horrible. The staff is beyond rude and the rooms are just plain disgusting. After pulling back the blanket that was full of holes, I saw the sheets that were covered in unknown... more

After reading the reviews about this hotel, I was rather worried about staying here. The staff at reception were very helpful and our room was spotlessly clean, fresh towels every day and linen changed. I would stay here again. The hotel is convenient for the trams, which is only two stops from the city center, and for the Garre de... more

We stayed in this hotel for 3 nights while visiting Belgium. The location is great. It is less than a 10-min walk (very easy with your luggage) from the Midi station of Brussels, where you can take trains to go to Bruges or Ghent. Also, it is about 15-20 min to walk to the Grand Place, which is not bad... more

We ended up here in this 3* hotel, because our original booked hotel had overbooked. This hotel was filthy, smelly, and hot. The tiles on the floor were chipped and broken. Found a dirty used hanky under one of the pillows. Doubtful that the bedding had been changed. Bed cover had cigarette burns on it, was old and worn, pillows... more

I spent 3 nights at the Ustel last NYE. The Hotel is very close to Gare Du Nord (5' walk) and also a very nice walkable distance to Grand Place (15' stroll?). I was taken aback with Grand Place so I didn't venture any fruther afield hence didn't use metro etc. I always walked everywhere so the hotel was ideally... more

My trip was booked at the last minute for four days via a travel agent. I read the reviews after booking and did have some reservations about staying here. When I arrived I asked for a room in the new section and received one on the 4th floor. The room was large and clean. My only complaint would be lumpy... more

I am single woman who often travels alone. I am not particularly fussy to be honest. I don’t need anything fancy or even an en-suite room so long as the accommodations are clean and in a safe neighborhood. I found the Ustel lacking in the later. I had absolutely no other issues with the hotel. I found the staff pleasant... more

I had some trepidation about staying here after purchasing 3 nights name-unseen from Hotwire and then seeing some shocking reviews here. I didn't find anything shocking here, except for the tininess of the single room they first offered me. But they upgraded me to a double, which was comfortable, had a new mattress (perhaps showing response to some of the... more

Stayed there for two nights with a package deal. To use the cliche, this is a hotel of two halves. In the first night we were put in the old building (No. 1, I think). It had dirty sheets, and was noisy, especially with the lift next to you. Got woken up by the morning lift traffic. When we asked... more

We weren't actually meant to be staying at this hotel, but due to some "technical problems" with our booking at one of the hotel chain's 4-star hotels, we were relocated here. While I see there are fairly mixed reviews on this hotel, and I admit, we were not happy to have been sent there in the first place, the service... more
