We approached the Hotel Dome with some trepidation after reading some of the other reviews on this site. To be fair, the hotel was better than we had feared. The room was comfortably furnished, rather than lavishly, but clean and reasonably spacious; overlooking the main drag and the (more expensive) Sheraton, Hilton and Crowne Plaza hotels. Internet access is €5... more
I can believe this hotel had 4 stars in the 60's maybe but on the present criteria it should be only 2 or maybe 3. The hotel's view, rooms, etc... aren't changed since the 60's! The staff is friendly, the rooms are clean and the breakfast is good but it needs to be restyled! We stayed on the 7th floor... more
While Hotel Le Dome is centrally located, it was very noisy. I agree with other reviewers that police/ambulance sirens were blaring past our room every 20-30 minutes. In addition to that noise, we were also subjected to an outside event in tents diagonally across the street which had a live, loud band with lots of bass. We're definitely not old... more
I arrived with m partener at Le Dome on Friday. We booked a double room, only to find two single beds that were "joined" to make a double bed. We are a young couple so walking into main district wasnt a problem but may pose as a problem for older tourists. The Restraunt was terrible. I ordered an Omlette and... more
The nearby boulevard is much to busy to be quiet even at night: the room doubled-windows are useless : don not forget your ear plugs. Breakfast time is shorter than announced. Room furnitures are from the 60's. At night, the door man is not friendly, you have to show and prove you are a guest from the street , even... more
I was unexpectedly stuck in Brussels on a Friday afternoon, so I booked the Le Dome through wotif.com for 85 Euro inclusive of B/fast & taxes. My room on the 6th Floor (I think) faced the busy intersection, and was a little noisy from time to time as Emergency vehicles blared past every 30 minutes or so. Still I appreciated... more
As other reports have posted, the walls between the rooms are very thin and therefore we heard every noise made in the hotel. Unfortunately, there was a large group of German students (6th form) with no supervision who made lots of noise and this was not rectified when we complained. Also, the breakfast was terrible. On our first morning, there... more
Good: 15 minutes walk to the town centre, very close to subway station. Room was dated but clean. Good breakfast Helpful staff No international TV Bad: Internet only in foyer (I'd recommend you pop over the road and use the wifi in the sheraton) Seedy (but safe) area. more
Well situated, close to Grand Place and fabulous shopping street Rue Neuve. Plenty of restaurants in the area of Rogier – up to 100 m from hotel. Very good communication with airport – only 15 min by train from lower level of terminal. Express train to Gare du Nord costs only 2,80 euro one way. My room was clean and... more
