We stayed he here on a Friday and Saturday at the end of march 2015. We had booked a junior suite and arrived quite late (after 8pm). Our car was taken care of by the concierge - it was parked in front of the hotel for no charge to us for the entire stay. We were shown to our room... More

Lovely place to stay near the centre of the city with the Grand Place within easy walking distance. Staff couldn't be more helpful and the décor and rooms are excellent. Lots of glass, brass and marble with art deco styling. You can have a drink inside at the bar or outside on the pavement café whatever the weather as there... More

The hotel is probably one of the most beautiful Belle Epoche Grand Hotels that still exist in old Europe. If you look for something modern this would not the place to stay. The rooms have been nicely refurbished maintaining the esprit of the good old times. The Cafe Metropole has a great service and nice ambiance but does not compare... More

The location is great. The building is grand. Service average at best. There is no tea coffee in the room or any glasses or mugs. The 'mini bar' is free and it has 2 bottles of coke, water and 2 beers. The room service was delivered by a guy talking on his mobile phone. Good thing I am here for... More

I like this hotel because the location suits for work, as well as being on the edge of the tourist area but not a part of it, and suitably located near to other nice parts of the city. The service is excellent, although the rooms are quite mixed - some very good, some less so, reflecting in part the age... More

Stayed for one night on Saturday with my family the rooms allocated where lovely and my daughter even got an upgrade to a suite which she really enjoyed. Only down side is the amount of beggars on the street outside, every time my Husband went down for a cigarette in the morning he was approached for a cigarette by a... More

I can't fault my experience of the metropole. We stayed in a junior suite which was beautiful and immaculate. Probably the best bed I have ever slept in. The room was very quiet and very dark at night with all the lights turned off. The reception staff were very friendly and the concierge was able to give lots of advise... More

The Metropole is somewhat like an ageing dowager countess, seen better days but still clinging to its self impression as a grand old dame. It's location is close to the city centre, about 5-10 mins walk from the Grande Marche and 10-15 mins from the Cathedral/Square conference centre. There is a metro station just outside. The front of house is... More

A great hotel where you can step back in time but still experience excellent facilities and excellent service. The front of the hotel and reception area are very attractive. The rooms are spacious and very clean. It is well situated i.e. only a 10 minute walk from the Grand Place. The room prices are often very reasonable. Beer and water... More

You may think that I am "damning with faint praise" but I assure you, this hotel is a decent place to base yourself for a couple of nights. In retaliation to those reviews I've read about "chipped mirrors and faded decor", please be realistic. Those expecting 5-star quality need to reassess their expectations, as you will not get genuine 5-star... More
