We stayed here for one night over the weekend. I had really high expectations after having read reviews on here however we were very disappointed with our stay. We arrived and checked in, we got to our room and the room was very run down, even though it is an old building, I felt the room was really tired and... More

Lovely old building with lovely atmosphere in the public areas. Reception staff are nice and friendly, check in and out was nice and smooth. The porters are helpful however it would have been nicer if they use service lift or bring the luggage in few minutes after going to the room, the lift is quiet small and having another person... We chose this hotel from the pictures and reviews and were not disappointed. It has a very elegant entrance hall and all the charm and opulence of an old building and the adjoining cafe is great. On arrival the reception staff were in short supply and we had to queue to register. the general experience of reception was poor. Some... More

first stay in the metropole and first impression were good, staff very helpful ideally situated for centre and metro, the only downside no tea or coffee facilities in the rooms bit dissapointing and its going to stop me from staying again next year, rooms could do with a lick of paint , open plan toilet in one room not nice... We found the hotel was great, the room was big and the bed very comfy! The bathroom was a little tired but it was high quality with all the extras you could want. The drinks in the minibar were included which was a nice bonus. Not really a place for the kids so good job they were at home with... More

Stayed here for 1 night but would like to have stayed longer. This hotel definately has a feel of times gone by with its grand lobby and opulance. The building is very quirky with lots of landings and stairs up and down but i liked this about it as it gave it character. The room was nothing special but was... More

We recently stayed for two nights here. The hotel is ideally located to the centre of Brussels. The Grand Place and the "famous little boy " all within 10 minutes walk of the hotel. The room was spacious and comfortable, but the decoration could do with a lick of paint and a handyman to stick down corners of wallpaper etc.... More

This famous hotel is located ideally in downtown Brussels. It is not a top 5 star hotel but still it was clean and spacious. You have to bear in mind that it is an old hotel and some of furniture and the inventory are somewhat worn. However, it has a lot of excellent characteristics to be appreciated.

Stayed for a 3 day break to Brussels for Christmas Markets. Great location, both in terms of local attractions and the underground. Free wifi accessible from rooms (well certainly ours anyway)..........no tea/coffee facilities in room which was a bit of bind. Room was cold and when we contacted reception they organised a mobile heater for room which addressed the issue... More

2nd time at this hotel and good location for shops. There is also a cinema and several restaurants nearby as well as the hotel restaurant. We had a good room and comfortable sleep. A couple of points away from an excellent score including the bar service which was slow. However would go back in the future.
