We took advantage of a Top Secret lastminute.com offer and we're given the Metropole. The room was grim, depressing, with great chunks out of woodwork, vile green, pink decor reminiscent of the 1980s. Bathroom though clean was tired. Bed linen was clean but carpet was dodgy and I didn't feel confident enough to put my bare feet on it. Wardrobe... More

It is a beautiful antique hotel, it is worth to visit it and stay for a few days. A good breackfast too. Also located very good: the historical center and restaurants are just in a few minutes away. the problem for me was that my room had a connecting door which means that you simply could hear every noise behind... I stayed at the Hotel Metropole for the third time this visit. I love the Belle Epoch décor but was disappointed that the ceiling was being repaired so there was a large plywood structure obscuring much of the grand lobby. The Belle Epoch elevator was also being repaired and therefore to get my luggage up and down meant using the... More

Our family stayed for two nights and found the hotel to be very pleasant and comfortable. We had two connecting rooms for our family of four and wished there were other options as opposed to having two rooms, but the connecting door made it work. The rooms are very spacious and comfortable. My husband, who does not speak French, was... More

I really enjoyed this hotel, but had been worried because of some reviews calling it past its prime. The hotel is well-located, just a short walk from the Grand Place, and down the same street from the Bourse. Obviously the lobby has a great ambience, and that translated to our room. The room was large, and the bathroom was extraordinarily... More

Sadly my stay with the Metrolpole was not a happy one. I was allocated a fairly grim room firstly and when I pulled back the duvet I found not one but 3 stray hairs in the bed which were clearly not even from the same donor. I trundled off to reception and spoke with their person behind the desk who... More

Walked into the lobby after having had flight delays and being over charged by the "official"taxi for the ride from the airport.Word of caution always check the fare"before"entering the vehicle!!! Entrance, lobby etc of the Hotel Metropole certainly has the "wow"factor that has been mentioned many times before. However as we proceeded to complain about our first experience in Brussels.Violetta(with the... More

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Room excellent- no noise from other guests due to hallway leading from room door to bedroom door. Staff welcoming and helpful. Cocktails and outside area super, relax and watch the world go by. Restaurant - atmosphere and decoration fab, although prices a little high! Close by to main square. Would stay again.

We were very pleased with our stay at the Metropole Hotel, it was a beautiful hotel with an amazing location. We were able to walk everywhere for shopping, eating and sight seeing. They welcome you with free beverages in your room both alcoholic and non-alcoholic, the restaurant is beautiful and the bar is a very comfortable but upscale place to... More

Excellent location, within walking distance to Grand Place and the Central train station that can take you to Bruges, Ghent etc (Gare Centrale). As many other commenters noted, the lobby of the hotel is impressive. I also enjoyed the free breakfast and thought the service was very good there. Only thing keeping this from a five star review is the... More
