Was there 3 times for business trips. Depends if you like this 'heavy' old style. If yes - no problem. Each room has it's own style, colors and planning, interesting experience! Indeed very hard to find the right room. Service at the reception is okay, the only disappointing thing was that the lady at the reception refused to call and... More

Checked into the hotel it seemed nice from the outside, lobby and restaurant. Checked into our room we reserved 3 rooms wth 2 queen beds per room we got 3 rooms each with a king size bed one bathroom had water on the floor along with a bunch of small weird hairs. None of the rooms had air conditioning and... More

The lobby and reception areas are the only areas of this hotel updated since the 60's.... We found our room, smelly, very dated with cracked tiles in the bathroom and wallpaper which is coming away from the wall. We are not ones to complain but felt it needed to be said! We moved room twice, each room worse than the... More

I stayed in this hotel at the recommendation of a colleague, and I have to admit, that I did have some mixed feelings. First of all, the staff were very welcoming and friendly, even if it did feel a little insincere. The building is absolutely stunning. It is huge, and a lot of fun to explore. The location honestly can't... More

overall comfortable but there were some glitches - a loose shower head and a curtain which let water straight through it onto the bathroom floor. But a lovely hotel to stay in. The cafe at the front is just gorgeous.

From the website one expected an old style 5 star hotel. It was certainly, old style with an open cage lift with a double layer of doors which were not easy. Free mini bar, splendid if not very warm breakfast. No tea making facilities in the room. Evening dining room experience disappointing, also with bottle of basic house plonk costing... More

Stayed at the hotel for 1 night. Room was spacious, clean, cosy, quite confusing location of the rooms within the hotel , spent 15 mins finding the way to my room, no staff on the floors to ask questions. Very warm welcome at the reception, 10 mins from the train station, ordinary location, 5 mins from the main square Not... More

I really don't understand what does this hotel became it's 5* for. It's extremely good located - just by the entrance to the old town of Brussels, but already outside of it, so the whole noise especially during the night is far away from you. Very well connected - entrance to the metro station is just by the entrance of... More

Was in the Metropole for a residential seminar. Grand hotel from the Belle Epoque period. Is still impressive at lobby and entrance level, but the rooms are very disappointing: stains all over the carpet in the room, ripped wall paper, not one of the wardrobe doors was closing properly, worn out furniture and a very dusty smell when entering the... Almost feels like stepping back in time when you walk through the rotating doors into the amazing lobby area. Very polite staff at all times. Location is perfect with the Metro station located under the hotel, so if you are heading to Gare Du Midi it is only 5 minutes away. The Grand Place is only a 5 minute walk... More
