I'm giving a 3 rating as it is rated a 5 star hotel, if it was rated a 4 star hotel, I'd give it a 4 rating. For a 5 star hotel, don't expect the number of problems we had - inroom safe was locked when we arrived, room was hot/air did not seem to be working, mini-bar was not... more

We were booking this hotel by internet through booking.com. We have chosen this hotel because of its location. Also we needed special hotel for disabilities. We were staying in Metropole Hotel for 7 nights. In fact hotel s location is excellent for tourists. All main sightseeing are on walk distance. The Central station is not far from the hotel. Metro... more

The public areas are incredible to see, however the room we had was rather anodyne and disappointing, albeit comfortable. Peach wallpaper is not really our thing, but it was clean and quiet. Breakfasts have pretty much anything you might fancy; plus a fruit bowl to raid for snacks later in the day! ;o) The restaurant food is wonderful, but you... more

I found this hotel to be very good overall. Here are the pros and cons of the hotel Pros Location Plenty of restaurants right outside the hotel, the Metro is right in front of the hotel, the Grand Palace is a short walk away. The hotel is an historic building. the lobby looks great and the place has a restaurant... more

The hotel is over a hundred years old with a very nice art deco facade outside and magnificent art deco fittings inside... Some of the rooms are a bit cramped but once requested, I was given a better room. The lift is also a quaint old fashioned one, but with security settings so that one could go up with a... more

I've read the other reviews and want to start by suggesting that you reserve a SUITE and do it by phone or by upgrade when you arrive to get the best price. The internet price for a Suite was 200 Euro more than the price we paid. We recently stayed at the Metropole Hotel in Brussels, May 24-27, 2009. We... more

My husband and I and another couple stayed here 5/16-5/21/09. The location of this hotel is GREAT!! Its within a 10 minute walk of the Grand Place and in the heart of the city. We never needed to take a cab to go anywhere as everything was within walking distance. The hotel is very clean and a good value. If... more

Strongly recommend against this hotel. Stayed there with wife and two co-workers and while it looks fancy, two of our three rooms had no working air for the week, maids often failed to service the rooms correctly and they charge 1.5Euros per min for LOCAL phone calls. An item that they do not tell you until you check out. International... more

This hotel is in a great location, minutes from anywhere you may want to visit. The ground floor of the hotel is by far the nicest I have seen in any hotel to date. The bedroom was the close to the least nicest I have stayed in however. It was horribly decorated, with a lobsided chandelier which looked like it... more

Traveled to Brussels with my parents and the hotel was everything the reviews stated. We found a great deal on the hotel website and booked the junior efficiency room for a triple. Even though it says its on the Grand Place, its actually about a 10 minute walk from there, so that was deceiving, especially when lugging 50 lbs of... more
