I have read TripAdvisor review before booking this hotel. I thought that New Hotel Charlemange is just clean, no-frills place, modest but decent and in the nice location. But it turns out miserable, boring and unfriendly hotel. Reception staff was indifferent, there was no safety-box, internet connection and air-conditioner in the room. We had to open window to have some... more

As most of the reviews have stated, the rooms and website do not reflect how shabby and run-down this hotel is. It's a dump. Upon check-in the reception staff and the manager were rude and unhelpful, my room was old-fashioned and grotty and without most of the services the website claims each room has (iron, bathrobe etc). And for the... more

After reading tripadvisor i came to the hotel with mixed feelings. First contact with the reception desk was fine, the guy was quick and efficient. Room 605 was very nicely decorated, decent size and with view on a green park. Room was actually renovated recently and you can see that. Bathroom was fine and large enough. As a business traveller... more

After having been coldy welcomed at the reception desk, we discovered our bedroom. Under the roof, it was smaller than whatever you can imagine ! The bedroom itself was very small and not really confortale, but the bathroom was still smaller. Impossible for my husband to take a shower ahead ! The price was quite high for this so bad... more

The decor, front desk and the elevator looks nothing like what a 4star hotel typically looks like...but the room quality did it justice.Extremely comfortable bed and great quality bed linen, with a spacious and clean bathroom. great for business travellers...not so great for tourists(due to the location). However,Grand Place is extremely accesible by Metro. more

This is as great location to stay at when doing business in the EU district. Great prices during political low season and easy access to Schuman metro stop. Rooms are modern and air conditioned, front desk staff also very helpful and efficient. more

This hotel is nice and the area is ok. However when we were there they had a holiday shut down. This meant that some restaurants and bars were closed and the others didn't serve food. Though we found a very nice pizzeria that was open. You can walk from this hotel to the city in about 20 minutes. The hotel is... more

We booked this hotel because the hotel advertises on Booking.com with "Free Private parking is possible on site". A few days before arrival, I called the hotel to confirm this. However, on arrival the parking appeared to be very small and full for our first night. When I told the receptionist that the Booking website makes notice of free parking... more

I booked the new Charlemagne when my usual hotel was full. It's unpretentious, smaller than the big chains, but absolutely fine and I'd stay there again. Small bar area seemed cosy though I didn't use it. Room was fine but unpretentious - clean and comfortable with everything necessary. Not where you'd choose for a romantic break, but fine for business... more

I stayed in this hotel for two nights on business. It's located very close to the European Parliament building and therefore is about a 15 minute walk from the centre of Brussels (I can vouch for that!) The hotel has been recently refurbished and the standard of my room was excellent. Very modern. WiFi internet access is available via credit... more
