Our room was compact and very hot but it overlooked the battelefield and was a short walk from the museum and attractions which made up for it. Hotel was clean and staff helpful. Ate in the restaurant one evening which was good food but more fancy than we required. Also, the restaurant doesn't open every night and the restaurant next... More

Ideally located for an historic trip to Waterloo battlefields Small room. Air conditioning close to the window makes noise. Bed is ok, smooth Tried the restaurant : very good food, local specialities (vol au vent and local beer) Very good service Despite these good points, the price remains high

The hotel is in an excellent location which makes up for the following to some extent. Our top floor double room was very stuffy and only had low set porthole windows which limited the view. The high set small tilt windows allow little flow through ventilation making the room hot and stuffy. The small fan provided was totally insufficient. Breakfast... More

We spent a night at the Hotel 1815 which is the perfect place to start your exploration of Waterloo. The Battlefield was literally outside our window. We stayed in the Ney bedroom which was comfortable & very reasonably priced. The staff were very helpful & although we didn't have breakfast it looked like great value

From our room we could see the battlefields and the Lion mound. It was a small room but for the price it was a good deal. Breakfast was nice and next door but one is a fantastic restaurant that despite being on a dead end out of town on a Monday was full of local people. There is parking and... More

This hotel is a stone's throw from where Wellington's famous elm tree would have stood, so you really can't get closer to the battelfield than this. The hotel is clean and comfortable. There is ample parking. The hotel is basic. It has Wifi (that you have to pay for), and the breakfast was fine on the Saturday, but less good... More

Stayed here for two nites during the 200th anniversary of the Battle of Waterloo. 100,000 converged on the town! The rooms are small and simple but the service was great even with the chaos. You couldn't ask for a better location to visit the Lion Mount or La Haye Sainte etc. kudos to Claudia and the staff.

This must be the best location to stay for a visit to the historic battlefield - just a short walk to the Lion Monument and the visitor centre. My room was simple but well furnished and the value for money was excellent. The hotel staff were most helpful

Booked a 5 night stay here to do an in-depth recce of the Waterloo Campaign in preparation for accompanying a coach to the bicentennial event, Waterloo 200. I came with a number of friends whose main intent was to have a good time, explore the battlefield and to wind me up. They're still mates. We stayed at Hotel 1815 on... More

I only ate breakfast here, but the staff was great, and the hotel, overlooking the battlefield at Waterloo, struck me as excellent. All of Wallonia, alas, is a little shabby, and the edges of the hotel are not perfect, by any means, but the service is very good and you cannot beat having Waterloo out the front door. Otherwise, you... More
