Booked a 5 night stay here to do an in-depth recce of the Waterloo Campaign in preparation for accompanying a coach to the bicentennial event, Waterloo 200. I came with a number of friends whose main intent was to have a good time, explore the battlefield and to wind me up. They're still mates. We stayed at Hotel 1815 on... More

I only ate breakfast here, but the staff was great, and the hotel, overlooking the battlefield at Waterloo, struck me as excellent. All of Wallonia, alas, is a little shabby, and the edges of the hotel are not perfect, by any means, but the service is very good and you cannot beat having Waterloo out the front door. Otherwise, you... More

The main advantage of this hotel is the true historical location you find yourself in, right on the main battle lines. The down side is it has a captive market at present hence the 100 euro tariff plus 11.32 euros for breakfast and not forgetting the 5 euros for wi fi. I imagine the price will double next year for... Dear Sir, We thank you for your stay. We are surprised with your comment, it is true that we are a 3-star Hotel and that we have no air conditioning, all our rooms were renovated and the decoration is not "heavy" as you say it in your message. The bed are new. The house is 100-years old and we wanted... More

There’s no doubt about it: the ultimate selling point of this hotel is its location. Situated right at the crossroads which marked the centre of the Duke of Wellington’s line, there simply cannot be a better base from which to explore the battlefield of Waterloo. Step outside the door from reception and you’re literally on the battlefield, in an area... More

Set within easy walking distance of the Butte du Lion (Lion Mound) visitor centre and a few yards from the site of Wellington’s tree (now long gone), the hotel has plenty of parking at the rear for guests. We were pleasantly surprised when we were shown to our accommodation which fronted on to the car park. Our room was in... More

only stayed 1 night as a stopover. we only paid just over 50 euros for the night if i had paid the 100 Euros then it would be a completely different review as it was not worth that price. we had a brilliant room on the 1st floor. it was a big room with a big bathroom. there was a... More

My wife and I planned to stay 2 nights, but to be honest there isn't enough to do in Waterloo to make it worthwhile. The hotel is pleasant but lacking in refinement. The front was affected by building work on the road and it all looked a bit messy. The wifi just didn't work, it looked as if we had... More

The location of this hotel cannot be beaten if you are interested in the Battle of Waterloo, however when my son and I travelled there this July (2014), it was hotter than any room I have ever been in. The only time I can remember being hotter and more comfortable is camping in Sicily more than thirty years ago! In... More

A small hotel, Very well located close to the monument Butte de Lion. The hotel applies touristic prices to rooms and to food.- but little is spent on maintenance (it seems). The first thing I saw in the bathroom was an area with loose tiles- and they seemed to have been in that stage for quite some time. The room... More

This hotel is great if visiting the battlefield. Park up and walk up the road. Our room was good-clean-opening skylight for fresh air - bathroom and cosmetics quite nice. Apart from the young lady receptionist on duty the day we arrived, we found this hotel to be very impersonal. The breakfast however in our opinion was very poor indeed and... More
